I still don't totally get this.  If the Chris Paul is that anxious to play for Doc Rivers and play with Kevin Garnett, why doesn't he ask for a sign-and-trade to Boston?  Clippers can have Rajon Rondo and his torn ACL for their troubles.

Clippers have Blake as well. Makes them a better team with our pieces than if cp3 came here. We also don't have the cap room to sign him

Clippers have Blake as well. Automatically makes them a better team with KG, Pierce (if he goes) and Doc than if cp3 came here
He loves the WARM weather ,  LA SCENE , you know Kardashians and all those types ......he HATES  BOSTON was raised to HATE Boston .

CP3 wants to live , work , play where he can be with all his buddies , year around......it wants it all ....not willing to EVER go to Boston ...... He might go to Texas or Atlanta if DH is there

But yes it makes more since for him to come to BOSTON were everything is already in place.

He is a diva and spoiled brat  .

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft

Woj on Clips-Celts now: "the talks are still at Jordan & one pick, Boston still wants two picks...Chris Paul has begun to exert some muscle"

YES!!!! Make the deal Danny. Make it NOW! Can't wait for youth to finally be represented here. Its been a long time coming. My dream for Wiggins is very much alive.

Get ready for mediocrity.  We'll be bad enough to miss the playoffs, but probably not terrible enough to finish in the bottom five.
We don't need to finish in the top 5 to win the lottery.

And we have a BINGO!!!

Wiggins to Boston...only way we'll ever get stars to come here is through the draft. Why do people still continue to think players want to play in Boston? Weather is better in LA and Miami and NYC has the most marketing potential

So we make the trade for approximately a 1:50 (or worse) chance at Wiggins?

That seems like pretty poor odds.

Some luck is involved in any team building situation, but with young talent, cap space and lottery pick in a great draft we are just increasing our chances to get lucky.

To me the team is actually in a good position, assuming they are able to unload some contracts and open up some cap space next year.

If they overachieve and grab the 7th or 8th seed, well that would help the sales pitch for signing a free agent. If they underachieve then we get a high pick in a stacked draft.

Really torn on this whole thing.

On one hand, I want us to get better in the future, because I know that in a few years when KG and Pierce retire, we will suck.

On the other, I think watching KG and Pierce play one or two more seasons and then retire while being mediocre is better than being mediocre without them.

I've felt this way for probably the last two years. "One more year." "No, now one more year." At some point we need to move on.

I almost wish KG and Pierce would retire tonight so we could just start rebuilding but still always have the memory of them retiring as Celtics.

Again, I'd rather stand pat than get DJ and 2 basically second rounders.

I know some people have talked themselves into thos trade but man clippers fans will be ECSTATIC.

i hate it too and ive been a advocated of change.  it's seems worthless. i don't even consider jordon or the late picks assets.  really what can you do with them?  jordon makes too much dough and the picks are fab melo territory bad.

I don't understand why it didn't put my post in above but the Clippers have Griffin as well, makes them a better team with our pieces than our current team would be with cp3. And they have a better looking future atm even after kg retires

What has happened to this fan base? We're content with bums like Jordan because he's young? What does that have to do with anything? Hell you never hear anything about the Lakers rebuilding. Why should it be different for the C's? The right move was obvious. Trade Pierce for a trade exception and get Smith. Load up your team with Smith Rondo KG Green and whoever wants to be a SG and that's a pretty [dang] good team. I just don't get why people think its okay to be the Bucks or Pistons. We are the CELTICS. WE are the 17 time champions. If the fan base had its way they would trade the last few years with the Bobcats and that's sad.

Everyone here is really underestimating how good Rondo, Green, Sully, and Avery Bradley are.

We're not the Lakers... This is cold Boston. This is how we have to begin a rebuild as sad as it is. Get what we can from a team willing to take our pieces

Dont take the scrubs on this forum as an indicator of the fanbase as a whole.

Don't worry guys, Deandre still did this...

http://nba.si.com/2013/03/10/deandre-jordan-dunks-brandon-knight-clippers-pistons-video/

So he's not completely useless, right?
LOL, yeah, between he and Green it'll be a dunkfest around here.  We may well stink, but at least we'll see a few good dunks.

We'll brick a lot of FTs, too.

Well in all fairness Roy, Jordan has to actually be on the court to get to the foul line

In all fairness, the Celtics actually have to get a call or get to the foul line themselves.

Hmm so how come the Patriots are better than the Dolphins or Raiders every year? How come all star players play for the Red Sox, even after a bad year? Weather doesn't play into it that much. The game is played INDOORS and most of these guys have 2nd homes in Miami Houston Dallas ATLANTA ( by the way has never won anything) or LA anyways
