What has happened to this fan base? We're content with bums like Jordan because he's young? What does that have to do with anything? Hell you never hear anything about the Lakers rebuilding. Why should it be different for the C's? The right move was obvious. Trade Pierce for a trade exception and get Smith. Load up your team with Smith Rondo KG Green and whoever wants to be a SG and that's a pretty [dang] good team. I just don't get why people think its okay to be the Bucks or Pistons. We are the CELTICS. WE are the 17 time champions. If the fan base had its way they would trade the last few years with the Bobcats and that's sad.

We're not the Lakers... This is cold Boston. This is how we have to begin a rebuild as sad as it is. Get what we can for a team willing to take our pieces
*buzzer sound* FALSE

Yeah? How am I wrong? We getting a prized FA to come here? Tell me when the last time that happened was

Two words. Paul Gaston. That was the owner the last time the Celtics had cap space to sign a max guy. If you are an old school fan you won't dare ask the question on why Gaston didn't land a FA

Doc is gone period........from Boston.

He basically burnt his bridges gambled the scheme would work,  now has told DA he is never comming back and probably helping arrange a new deal

So DA probably see the writing on the wall , he's gonna need a new coach and is gonna start over.

BUT !!!!! ......I would make Doc and CLippers bow to every demand , or just let the contract close out and see what happens who gets other offers,  who retires , ect...

JUST GRAB HOLLINS before its too late.

Hmm so how come the Patriots are better than the Dolphins or Raiders every year? How come all star players play for the Red Sox, even after a bad year? Weather doesn't play into it that much. The game is played INDOORS and most of these guys have 2nd homes in Miami Houston Dallas ATLANTA ( by the way has never won anything) or LA anyways

Those sports are completely different... The Patriots are better because they drafted Tom Brady in the 6th round. They sucked in the 90s. In the last few years with baseball, teams such as the Orioles, A's and this year's Sox are proving that having a high payroll and all star talent doesn't buy wins. Look at the Dodgers and Angels atm.

Basketball is a 15 man roster in which one or two players can take over a game, unlike in both those sports. There's only a handful of players in the league that can really change an entire team and turn them into contenders. Lebron, Durant, and CP3 to name a few.

Those players won't just come to Boston and we don't have the cap space anyway... so we can't assume that we can rebuild like Miami did in 2010 and the Lakers do. We need to rebuild like this. Better than starting with nothing if Doc leaves and KG retires, especially if we can dump contracts and create cap room on top of it

Most likely framework, amid signs of progress in talks, remains DeAndre Jordan for KG & two first-rounders for Doc Rivers' coaching rights

So Basketball, a game that's played indoors is the only sport where weather is an attraction? If they have money and a good ownership players will come.

Woj on Clips-Celts now: "the talks are still at Jordan & one pick, Boston still wants two picks...Chris Paul has begun to exert some muscle"

YES!!!! Make the deal Danny. Make it NOW! Can't wait for youth to finally be represented here. Its been a long time coming. My dream for Wiggins is very much alive.

Get ready for mediocrity.  We'll be bad enough to miss the playoffs, but probably not terrible enough to finish in the bottom five.
We don't need to finish in the top 5 to win the lottery.

The six best teams in the lottery all have less than a 2% chance of winning.

In other words, we have a better chance of winning a title next year than winning the lottery, unless we get really, really bad.

But you have to figure that Rondo takes the season off too in order to get healthy. That would be fantastic news, that way we can deal him the year after fully rehabbed for a pick in a loaded 2014 draft

Good luck telling a guy as competitive as Rondo to just "take the season off".

People do know that this isn't NBA2k right?  Even if Rondo takes the year off (highly unlikely but let's pretend), what GM is going to deal a 1st in a loaded draft for a guy just coming off of ACL surgery and on an expiring deal.

I'm as big a Rondo fan as any, but come on. Not happening.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Right forgot to add. These FAs are also premadanas and want to go where they can get the best sponsorship deals, clubs, and yes weather. A reason D12 went to the Lakers over a much better choice in Houston last summer.

The C's are a big market but have just never really been known for this and as a good destination for FAs. It sucks but you have to do what you can

Would people rather have Bledsoe, or the 2 picks? I'm a little torn myself
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Sterling is getting punked by Chris Paul. I'm sick of these trade talks with tha Clippers. This supposed best deal for KG and Doc is a bad one at tha same time. I hope Danny throws Lee/Terry's contract back at them and kill this deal again.

Tha Clippers walked away twice. Danny should have let it be but he does have all tha marbles since tha Clippers initiated these talks again. It was said on ESPN that tha Clips feel they can get this deal done tonight but if this deal is gonna happen Danny should plug everything he can out of them. Including Bledsoe.

I'd really like for Ainge to push for a second-round pick or two to be added.  The Heat getting Pat Riley established a first-round pick as reasonable compensation for a top coach.  Jordan and another first is a reasonable price for a one-year rental, if you think KG retires after this season, but a bit light if Garnett plays out his entire contract and maybe has some left in the tank to be a valuable role player beyond that.

I've always thought of Bledsoe in the deal as the guy you ask for that you know you're not getting so that you when you change your offer, you look reasonable.

Everyone here is really underestimating how good Rondo, Green, Sully, and Avery Bradley are.
Everyone here is really overrating how good Rondo, Green, Sully and Avery Bradley are.

Put those 4 on the court with DeAndre and they're a playoff contender in the East.  With Bass and either JET/Lee or Caron Butler coming off the bench and with an above average coach, they'd probably even have a shot at the 8th spot in the West.  They're light years away from having a chance at a ring but short of a full on rebuild where Ainge buys out Pierce and gives away Rondo for pennies on the dollar in order to rack up 3 or 4 high lottery picks, what else is there?
