Clips could have got a 2 year window of being a legit contender , and then get a bunch of cap space when PP and KG retires to reload .

But don't want to give up an additional late 1st rd pick

Chumps....

If we fire Doc we pay him $21 million to not coach the team.  We're not firing Doc.

I can't believe that the Clippers walked away from the last deal of DJ and 2 1st round picks.  I kept hoping DA was going to just say no, but the Clippers did it for him.  Amazing...amazingly stupid by the Clippers.  They had the perfect storm to upgrade their roster, coach and potentially get PP as a bonus.

I was never happy for the deal for us, but I am shocked that it wasn't a no-brainer for LA.  Man DS is so freaking cheap.  They had a chance to be a serious title contender.  You don't get chances like that very often as an organization.

Doc is going to coach for us or be broadcasting for 3 years.

I'm fine with bringing Doc, KG and Pierce back if we don't get good value for them.

However, I'd much rather them use this opportunity to see if Doc, or KG could be traded to another team.

As Clippers-Celtics talks fall apart, several sources tell Y! that Clippers had "cold feet' on the financial payouts needed to close deal.

And there is the Woj Bomb.  Clippers to cheap to close deal.

Too cheap to buy rings!

No way is Paul staying now.

Chris Paul will stay if they get Dwight Howard.  Otherwise, probably not.

That or something like this scenario happens where we mutually sever the contract to let him coach somewhere else instead, for compensation from the team.  I wouldn't rule that out, but flat-out firing him is just not going to happen.

Man I really hope it stays this way. Even Clippers fans want to move on from Jordan and his contract.

I wasn't even happy about Jordan and two 1sts. Bledsoe, or take back contracts.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Danny Ainge now has the ball.

I'm pretty sure Doc will be willing to stay if we run it for one more year with KG, Paul, Rondo and Co., no matter how old they are. But if he's really insisting on rebuilding, there's no sense keeping Doc if he doesnt want to be part of it.

It's his call now.

This. You know Danny is probably already looking into it, "Kevin--if there is any place you'd be open to going and wouldn't mind going there without Doc let me know and I'll see what I can do."

According to Chris Broussard Celtics management still want Doc to coach the team.

Seems questionable but possible.

Doc and Danny are very close, I can easily see how they could get over this.

Ownerships and fans on the other hand...

If we are rebuilding then that's a questionable decision. If we are running the guys one more time, I think they're comfortable with it.
