This is why the Clippers, deep down, will always be the laughing stock of the NBA.

Yeah.

How often do we see stuff like this?  A team refuses to let go of a player, and it bites them?

Chicago refused to trade Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich once upon a time because they were going to be stars.  Golden State refused to deal Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins because they were building blocks.  The Clippers wouldn't move Shaun Livingston under any circumstances.

The Clippers wouldn't give up Eric Bledsoe and a #1.  Loser franchise.

Eh, we wouldn't give up Rondo in the Ray and KG deals.  The Clips have done some stupid stuff over the years, but I don't fault their management on this one.

They haven't made Bledsoe untouchable.  They just weren't willing to empty their disposable asset pantry for Doc and a very old KG.

But the Celtics put in Jefferson, West, top 5 pick, Gomes and soon to expire contacts.  (and Gerald Green, sort of a SG vs. of Jordon)

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Multiple reports coming out that Clips called deal off. GOOD!

Sounds good to me.  Hopefully CP3 calls their bluff.

what "bluff" are you talking about? sounds like the celtics were just asking too much for a 1 year rental kg (37 year old kg, btw) and a coach. the clipper called the celtics bluff.

The bluff where the Clippers are taking it for granted that CP3 will re-sign, and decide to get pennywise about landing him some impact help.

**** that's their value, why the **** would they give more than they need to? So boston can be happy? you guys are so used to get the better end of the deal, but when someone tries the same tactic on you ya'll cry about it

You sure do seem upset for someone who's been so adamant about not caring if the deal goes through.

Look on the bright side, nobody can ever take that division championship away, and they only give out 6 of those every year.  Good times.

not upset that the deal didnt go through, upset that you guys think that you were getting a ****ty deal for a coach and a 1 year player

Let's play a game of "How many you got"?

The Celtics aren't quitters. Why should you be? - blind homer

Ace.

Glad the deal is dead. No more rationalizing DeAndre to myself. Keeping players who can shoot free throws.

Couldn't we just do a deal of Eric Bledsoe/Caron Butler for Garnett?

Hey LA, how about YOU keep Deandre Jordan? If he's not a scrub, then you shouldn't have a problem moving him in another deal.

Meh, Danny was the one that said the Doc not coming back narrative was created by Marc Betrand.  I've learned one thing about Danny Ainge's commentary on trade talks.  Don't believe it till you see it, (or the trade deadline passes)

You're missing the part where Chris Paul's chance of leaving now shoots way up after they miss out on Doc and KG.

As well as they just had to apparently take on Terry or Lee it seems.

The price wasn't too much.

Even if CP3. ...steals the Celtics team and moves it to pigs butt CA

the Clipper will ........

Never get the Lakers to hand over Howard .......Mitch will never sell out like Danny

Without Howard ........ sorry , but KG and Pierce don't make Clippers better than OKC or Spurs or Houston  and maybe not the Nuggets.

It's a super team only if Howard is there ........an't happening.

NO way ...... CP3  won't sign squat till. HOWARD is  a given to be by his side.

Houston is a.  much better place for Howard on all accounts ,  with or without  CP3...... he doesn't need CP3 to succeed there , he has Hardin  and. bigs coach......Doc is small ball city

btw...... please as a consolation prize. ....Clippers can keep.  Glen Rivers   ...no charge

Come on, Brian Shaw, DeAndre Jordan, and Allen Crabbe will probably be just as good for their title chances as a HOF MVP DPOY and a COY championship coach.  At least that's what Sterling will tell himself as he rolls around on a pile of all the nickels he saved.

So Doc and KG come back?

Even though it's obvious that they don't want to be here??

Should add that they don't want to be here without Paul!

Maybe Doc needs to talk to CP3 about coming here now!  ;D That would certainly help mend the disloyalty that has been shown.

Clippers could have started:

Paul
Lee
PP
Blake
KG

bench of bledsoe, Barnes, maybe butler, will green

Coach: Doc

that team could have won the west

I hope this is truly over.

Jordan (overpaid and limited skill-wise) + 1 late-first round pick is not enough.

Ainge has options now.  Everyone can come back and be one awkward, divorced family, or KG can retire, Pierce can be cut/traded, and Doc can walk away if he chooses (he isn't allowed to coach for three seasons unless Ainge gives the ok - contract clause).

I hold no grudge against KG.  The man just wants to play and he loves Doc.  Remember, this is the guy that fought against leaving Minnesota even though they were becoming a lottery team.  KG is a Celtic for life.  Same with Pierce, regardless of where he is next season.

I do question Doc's motives and I am disappointed with him for wanting to bail on the team at this moment in time.  When he signed the five-year extension he knew a rebuild was coming during his time.  To want out when the going gets tough is not admirable.  Plus, he talked Terry and Lee into signing multi-year deals and he talked Green into signing his extension.  Doc was fully invested in Celtic Nation until, suddenly, he wasn't.

Yeah the Clippers habe a chance to be a legit title contender and lock up CP3

We are rebuilding either way and really doesn't speed up the process or help thatbmuch with this trade.

The Clippers are the ones that needed to make this trade not us imo

the clippers have alot of options, and were going to sign shaw or hollins before this little fiasco happened. it was just a side track for the clipps, they're back to where they were a couple of days ago

Which is what, exactly? Maybe losing Paul this summer? And maybe actually making it past the first round next year? Clipper nation (all 4 of them) are stoked!
