If we aren't going to run it back one more year, I think DA needs to teach those clowns a lesson and help facilitate whatever needs to happen for CP3 and Howard to team up on another team. Whether it be Houston, Dallas, Atlanta.

As Clippers-Celtics talks fall apart, several sources tell Y! that Clippers had "cold feet' on the financial payouts needed to close deal.

And there is the Woj Bomb.  Clippers to cheap to close deal.

Danny Ainge confirms to the @BostonGlobe that the proposed Clippers-Celtics deal is, in fact, dead.

There you have it.

woop woop! Danny showed some guts.

Regardless of what happens next, Danny just gained a little more respect from me.

Really confusing why people were burying Ainge.

We just got leaks from people who are probably plugged into LA and Chris Paul.  At no point was it said Ainge was accepting anything.

It seemed pretty clear to me that most if not all the leaks were coming from the Clippers side, to poison the well for KG and Doc and put pressure on Ainge to cave.  Glad they got what they deserved out of it.

Even if CP3. ...steals the Celtics team and moves it to pigs butt CA

the Clipper will ........

Never get the Lakers to hand over Howard .......Mitch will never sell out like Danny

Without Howard ........ sorry , but KG and Pierce don't make Clippers better than OKC or Spurs or Houston  and maybe not the Nuggets.

It's a super team only if Howard is there ........an't happening.

NO way ...... CP3  won't sign squat till. HOWARD is  a given to be by his side.

Houston is a.  much better place for Howard on all accounts ,  with or without  CP3...... he doesn't need CP3 to succeed there , he has Hardin  and. bigs coach......Doc is small ball city

btw...... please as a consolation prize. ....Clippers can keep.  Glen Rivers   ...no charge
See, I am not so sure on this.  The Lakers can get Blake Griffin in a trade for Dwight Howard.  They could also watch as Dwight Howard signs with Dallas for example and get absolutely nothing.

I am not sure the Lakers are that prideful that they would watch Howard walk juat to avoid trading with the Clippers.

Yeah I agree.

It sort of twisted perception that they had leverage when in fact they had so little.  They used the media as a tool but they failed.  People acted as if Paul was already signed back with them when they need Doc and KG to keep him.  There is a TON at stake for them and they just showed they aren't willing to pay the price.

DA had absolutely no choice but to back away. The guy conceded two times on what he was willing to accept. First with Bledsoe and then with the salaries of Lee/Terry. You can't go and then lower your asking price for a 3rd time that would be negotiation suicide not only for this deal but for all future dealings involving Ainge and the Celtics.

You think come February at the trade deadline Danny would have ANY leverage in another trade when the potential trading partner sat and watched him lower his asking price 3 times while the Clippers held strong?

Good job, Danny. But that doesn't mean we can't make other deals to secure future financial security!

Happy this rollercoaster has stopped. I may have broke Twitter at one point.

Really hope it means we still get another year of KG, man's a legend!
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I'd almost like to see the Clips win a title someday just to see how crappy the rings Sterling sprang for would be.

Unfortunately I'll probably only be alive another 60 years or so.

I'd love for there to be some sort of tampering charges that lead to the Clippers having to send something like a second-round pick going to the Celtics as compensation.
