no point in taking jamaal crawford when you have 2 of him on your team already in jordan and terry...

If this is for butler, jordan and 2 low first round picks....what a HORRIBLE deal for boston.  Nobody wants butler, nor jordan

You can flip Jamal into something. Contenders can use his scoring. We can get more pick/s for him, some young role players.

At this point you get what you can. It's not about the fit anymore, anything that has value that Danny can get for PP, KG and the rights to hire Doc, he should. He worry about what to do after that later.

it is going to be Jordan and the clippers pick this year and next in the first round...which both will be low and have no impact on rebuilding

just hire del negro and really ramrod the fans danny

Welcome to a decade of irrelevancy.

Horrible, horrible trade.

Or we can always let them walk away and get absolutely nothing back which makes the Celtics super irrelevant in the next decade!

Jordan and a couple late round firsts is basically nothing.  I'd argue the results would be approximately the same.
Even with his obvious flaws, Jordan is still better than any center not named Shaq that we've had since Perk got injured. Unless you count Garnett as C, that is.

In other words he's better than 36 year old Jermaine O'Neal?

If we took Crawford I seriously doubt we'd be seeing much of him in green.  We'd either flip him as part of the original framework or worst case before the trade deadline.  He makes sense as an asset but not as a player.

Exactly. We need to think BIG PICTURE. Danny never planned on trying to win a title with Big Al, Delonte, and Gerald Green, and I'm sure he's not planning on trying to win a title with DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, and Caron Butler.

if Boston tries to flip jamal crawford to contenders for picks...those picks are most likely very low...which is not going to help boston...picking 15 or lower doesn't add much value...they either need to reload through free agency or just tank...if this deal goes through....it looks like tanking is the option

I wasn't that high on getting DJ for KG, but including PP for Butler and Crawford is just awful.  Those two aren't much younger than PP and both have extremely limited trade value.  I guess Butler comes off the books in one year.  What is the length of Crawford's contract.

Yuck.  I am not a big fan of Bledsoe, but at least he has some decent trade value.

It still is an asset to have. Sometimes trading for an All Star is just a matter of which young guys and how many picks are heading out. You'd never know. Besides, it's not like we are giving away more to acquire him.

these are just trade ideas, no one knows what the deal will be.

Don't get so worked up about it

i still think it will be for only jordan, butler and a first rounder. clippers will call boston's bluff on pierce and let them buy him out...then he goes to LA

Yeah if Pierce is in the deal we need to be getting more than just Jordan. Though I really don't see how it works with him in the deal.

Maybe we agree to waive him so he can sign with them for certain as part of "the deal" instead of a separate trade that Danny had lined up to give us a TE or something for Pierce.

I dunno, I want this settled one way or the other.
