I wasn't that high on getting DJ for KG, but including PP for Butler and Crawford is just awful.  Those two aren't much younger than PP and both have extremely limited trade value.  I guess Butler comes off the books in one year.  What is the length of Crawford's contract.

Yuck.  I am not a big fan of Bledsoe, but at least he has some decent trade value.

Pretty much my thoughts. I wasn't thrilled with Bledsoe but now that this seems like it may go down it will be frightening that we didn't at least land him.

Whatbwas the original trade during the season? KG for Jordan and Bledsoe? Wasn't a fan then and not a fan now but if we don't at least get those 2 for KG amd Doc than just wow

no point in taking jamaal crawford when you have 2 of him on your team already in jordan and terry...

If this is for butler, jordan and 2 low first round picks....what a HORRIBLE deal for boston.  Nobody wants butler, nor jordan

If we took Crawford I seriously doubt we'd be seeing much of him in green.  We'd either flip him as part of the original framework or worst case before the trade deadline.  He makes sense as an asset but not as a player.
Yeah I really don't care to see Crawford in green. If we were contending I could deal with his ugly game, but otherwise yuck.

I'm sitting here on my lunch break trying to talk myself into this deal without Bledsoe, but the more I think, the less appetizing my sandwich looks.

I just can't talk myself into thinking this is a decent deal. Will be a very bummed out Celtics fan if this deal goes through without Bledsoe.

these are just trade ideas, no one knows what the deal will be.

Don't get so worked up about it

Oh I know.  Who knows what will happen.  But I just don't think we will be able to flip Butler or Crawford for much of anything.  I know that something is >/= nothing.

Maybe this option would be more to accommodate PP than anything.  Assures him he gets to go with Doc and KG.

I think DeAndre Jordan could be traded to Portland for their 2013 first rounder (#10) or a top ten protected 2014 pick.

Portland badly wants a center who can anchor their defense and round out their starting lineup. They have a lot of cap space this summer so they can absorb the contract. After Dwight Howard, their only real alternative in the free agent market is Nikola Pekovic. Plus, their GM is the guy who gave DeAndre Jordan his contract back when he was with the Clippers so he probably still rates the lad.

I think that would be a good move for both teams. Allow Boston to enter a larger rebuilding process, lose more games, improve their own draft pick next summer(s) and add a late lotto pick to their roster.

Not that it really matters but I'd love to see the overlap between the people bemoaning this deal now and the people making "blow it up" threads for the last 4 years.  Be careful what you wish for.
I thought our chance to blow it up would have been during the trade deadline last season (2011-12 season).   That's the last chance we had to actually get serious assets for our old players.  There were discussions about landing a lotto pick for Pierce... and OJ Mayo for Ray.  That was your real shot.  This year it was too late.  And now at this point... we're talking about really weak assets.  DeAndre Jordan's albatross contract and filler for Pierce and KG?  Meh... we're missing the playoffs regardless.  We might as well just hang onto KG and Pierce to at least the culture can carry over to the next generation.

I'm still shocked that the Nets preferred Wallace to Pierce.

idk

if u get jamal, butler and jordan...are we sure this is a tanking team?

u put them next to Rondo, Jeff and Bass/Sully...
I mean...

You let Rondo cut and distribute...
Jeff has to attack, but u have to respect his shot, so some spacing
Jamal...can't leave him open...or even contest him really
Bass would probably turn into more of a mid range jump shooter, which u have to respect, because he's money
Jordan is your rim scorer and protector

Then you have Butler off the bench. He's not great but he can get hot.

I'd assume you want to flip JET and Lee for something at this point...but wowza
a team with a legit scorer at the SG is not doing too bad next to Rondo and Jeff.

Not a bad idea. Unfortunately, Charlotte owns Portland's 2014 1st rounder.

I thought Frank has already accepted a gig helping Jason Kidd coach in Brooklyn?

Assistants are allowed to seek promotions except in season typically. I can't imagine that'd preclude him from getting the big job in Boston.
