Stephen A, like Chris Broussard, is a good writer and a solid interviewer. Both of them get far too much face time on ESPN.

Bill Simmons was mouthing off about how much CP3 and Blake dislike each other now and the Clippers have horrible ownership.  Doc is substantially better than any coach they're getting on the market.  I could randomly see something like this actually happening, even though it sounds ridiculous.  We would be aways off from a championship with that roster, but I think Rondo & Griffin could convince a marquee FA to sign with us and we'd have the pieces for a trade.

So the Clippers ownership has to pick. And the clear choice is CP3 over Griffin. If not maybe Cp3 won't resign and the Clippers will be a lottery team again. So I think that puts pressure on the Clippers to make a move like this. The Clippers should shop for a much better deal, but who knows Danny may be able to pull another heist off.

Of all the things that won't happen this off-season, this is the thing that won't happen the most-est.

This is a joke.  Why the hell would the Clippers agree to this?

TWO QUESTIONS- tp for the first person who can answer each...

1. Has anything like this trade ever happened in the history of the NBA?

2. Has Stephen A. Smith ever said anything useful?

The choice is CP3 over Griffin, but Blake is the one on the huge contract, no?

I don't know of any other team that has what the Clippers want (experienced, playoff tested vets) that would want Griffin for what he's being paid.

I could with a clear conscience be a Celtics and a Clippers fan next year.  Both teams the C's. Different coasts, conferences and time zones.  Very few conflicts.  I AM IN!

Can the Clips change colors to say lime green---I know sea green.

I am sure #5 and # 34 are not retired..have they retired any #'s.

This trade idea is completely absurd.  Two elderlies with a foot in retirement for Blake Griffin?  Why Not Bron?

... Seriously.  If a CelticsBlog member had come up with this foolishness, he'd be mocked unmercifully.

It's insane.  Just insane.  Anyone who takes it seriously is out of their freakin mind.  If your the clippers, trading Chris Paul for Rondo makes more sense than dropping Blake Griffin/jordan/bledsoe for a 1 year rental of KG and Pierce.

SAS is trolling Celtic fans.  Our best offer for Pierce during the deadline was Kris Humphries.  These guys don't have trade value anymore.

Sillyness aside it could be interesting for both teams. Maybe Paul doesnt get along with Griffins immaturity and is ready to get two established veterans surrounding him in their last years. Paul has a huge say in the Clippers roster management so he could be suggesting moves.

For us

Rondo/Bledsoe
Bradley/Terry/Lee
Green
Griffin/Bass
?

As much as i dislike Griffin a Rondo, Griffin, Green trio would be mighty exciting and make the celtics fun to watch again.

Wont happen though.
If Chris Paul was that hateful of Blake Griffin and that desperate to play with KG and Pierce... trading Chris Paul for Rondo makes FAR more sense for both teams.  No way do you give up a 24 year old big man all-star (Still on his rookie deal) and two more capable players for two guys this close to retirement.
