courtney lee is basically the Brandon Bass of SG's

hes not a big name or allstar, but hes a starting calibar player who can consistently give you 12ppg

That's a pretty good comparison.

And Jeff Green might just be the Brandon Bass of SF's.

I like this signing, and the Bass signing was pretty good. But paying Terry the amount we're about it pay him... for the length of time we're going to have to pay him... that was a bad contract. Not to mention Jeff Green's contract, which was also total garbage.

As usual, Ainge continues to be consistently inconsistent. Sometimes brilliant (Rondo's deal, ditching Glen Davis for Bass) sometimes abysmal (Jeff Green round 1, and now, Jeff Green round 2).

JET is still an absolute baller. He scored 15ppg last year on just 34 mpg. If he started in Dallas and got 40-42 minutes a game he would easily be a 20 point scorer.

He currently has no real health issues to worry about. So I'd say it was a decent deal for one of the if not thee best 6th man in the game.

Shooting guards that are 33+ age like rotten cheese, my friend. Look at this: http://www.thenbageek.com/players/64-jason-terry

Pay attention to WP48. Notice how he was slightly below average for the last 2 years, and that he's been steadily on the decline since 2006 (which is to be expected, because 28-29 is about when players statistically peak).

I like Jason Terry, a lot actually, but this was a stinker of a contract.

well, that "slightly below average" guy 2years ago was the 2nd best player on a championship team...so im not so sure how much stock to put in those stats.

I expect his shooting % to go up this year as well playing with Rondo..

ya, Tyson chandler's defense was probably just as important...even then it puts him at maybe 3rd best player?

either way, he was a HUGE part of it...he TORCHED miami offensively

This is now a young, solid team. Why are we looking for future superstars when we already have one? KG and Pierce were already buying into the "Rondo" era. Now we have younger and quicker players that came to play with him. When Danny signed Jeff Green, JET, and Courtney Lee, he enticed them with Rajon. Ray was holding Rondo back with his superstar ego, now it really gets to be Rondo's team.

While I will not say, that Ray's ego got in the way, I do agree that Rondo will have it a lot easier with his freestyling play without the set plays for Ray filling up the playbook. And that will also make it easier for a guy like Lee.

You could have a case that Terry was the second or third best player on that Mavs team if you were talking about the playoffs only.  Otherwise, Nowitzki, Chandler, Kidd, and Marion were all more important.
