Can we move on from the trade? People are not talking about Detroit's excellent pick of Spencer Hawes enough.

Fine. I hated the Spencer Hawes pick, I thought there was a significantly better center still available.

Grumpy Gertrude over here.

What Rebus means to say is that we appreciated the positive response from our fellow GMs, and look forward to seeing the remainder of the round continue as cordially and fruitfully for everyone involved.

I don't mind Hawes, I just don't think he'll ever recapture his early year form.

Wrong you are. He is young, talented and fits perfectly with Nene.  ;D But you're Bieber so what can we expect.  ;)

I think added consideration needs to go to Hawes due to his big man partner at PF is Nene.

I wouldn't have been comfortable in a low-skilled (offensively speaking) center alongside Nene. I think that Detroit needed a high post center like Hawes in order to get the best offensively out of Nene at PF.

In terms of those high post centers, I think Hawes was the best on offer.

Maybe I'm being a little too 'what have you done for me lately', but I can't help shake the image of a player who didn't do a single positive thing in an entire playoff series against the Celtics.

I'm not a big Hawes fan. I think he's soft and his half year last year was an aberration. But I do like the fit next to Nene, as Who says. Their games are very complimentary.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
He's 20 and has Ray Allen/Steve Nash-like shooting ability and efficiency. He will be a top 3 PG in no time whatsoever. Lowry isn't in the same discussion as a player.

Lowry in terms of talent today, absolutely is in the discussion as a player.
No...he really isn't

Back it up with something that doesn't involve the stomach illness. Irving passing, rebounding, and defense are all significantly behind Lowry's, and the one area he really just bulldozes him is shooting.

Also, my pick at 6.6 is forthcoming in about a minute and a half.

Just got home. My phone died because of all that, nevermind.

Like the Lou Wil pick.

I was wondering where we at in the draft now?
