Trade
Lowry, 6.21, 11.20, 13.20
for
Irving, 10.15, 11.1, 12.15
I cannot find a metaphor to describe this that I think is a fair indicator of how I feel about this trade.
3.11, 6.21, 11.20, 13.20
for
1.18, 10.15, 11.1, 12.15
I'm just pretty much flabbergasted.
Didn't you tell us that you can't judge a trade by draft position? (And genuinely, I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, but it seems like something you would agree with. Especially if we start charting out your trades.

)
In terms of my perspective, I like the trade for Edgar and I, obviously. I love Kyrie Irving, maybe more than anybody else in this draft (except for maybe nick). I've called him a superstar, and I was candid with Yoki about that.
But here's the other side, from Yoki's perspective: Argubaly, Lowry and Irving aren't far off in their present capability. Lowry is a better defender, a better rebounder, and a better passer, and he's also a very good scorer. He's a better fit in Yoki's backcourt, because he and MKG can shut opposing players down. With Bogut as a backstop and Barnes / Young patrolling the perimeter, teams will have a very hard time scoring on that team.
Plus, at 6.21, he's going to get a quality starter. We're talking about the 141st pick in this draft. For perspective, there are 150 NBA starters. That means you're getting the equivalent of a starting-caliber player.
I essentially traded Steph Curry for Kyle Lowry. I see them as pretty equal players. If this was Curry + a 6th for Kyrie, I doubt anybody would think it was unfair. I think there's a lot of good for Yoki in this deal.
(Fully prepared for IP to call that opinion "hot garbage" again.
