Thoughts on the Wall pick?
Well as far as what we saw this season (and will argue withits a reach.

But its one of the picks that has the potential give you a big "I told you so" next year.

Monroe at PF, I have my doubts on that. Depends on who he's going to play with I guess.

He was billed as a PF coming in. He's fairly quick. I believe he can play the 4. Yes, provided who he gets paired with is the key. Chances are he plays Center though.

Not sold on Monroe as a PF either. I think he is going to have change his dramatically to be effective there.

He scores in the post through his quickness and finesse at the center position. He needs to become a power-based post scorer to score at PF because that quickness advantage is going to disappear.

Maybe Monroe is able to do that. Maybe he isn't. I don't know. Not convinced either way.

It's a major question mark in my eyes though ... for Detroit going forward with Monroe + Drummond.

He has underrated strength. He can power his way in the post if you put light PF's against him.

Again, chances are he plays Center, but I'd really love to find a guy I can compliment him with. Hey, aren't the Pistons moving him to PF this season?

Trading out of the first round usually seems like such a scary idea, but there seem to be an unusually high number of players I'd normally consider "first round talent" still available on the board.

If a team who traded away a first rounder can somehow get three picks in the top half of this round, I think that's a great start to building a team if they can get the right combination of players who fit together.

I agree with this, and that's why I hate the pick. Your first round pick shouldn't be an "I told you so" guy.

Monroe can definitely overpower those smaller PFs (combo forward types). Not sure he overpower PFs with solid size.

I don't think Drummond is ready to start for Detroit yet. I don't think they have anyone else there who can start at the five. I imagine Monroe will stay at center for another year (or probably two) before Drummond is ready (hopefully) to take over the duties.

Yep, but how many of those solid size PF's are quick enough to handle Monroe? Not to many.

I think his quickness for a PF is fairly average.

I love Greg Monroe - though probably not this early - but I'd consider his quickness below average for a power forward.
