JaJuan shouldn't think he'll be able to get out of Houston easily. Word is Rockets like him and will keep him.

Don't know why Johnson is making such a fuss about Houston.
They drafted other young PFs worried about opportunity...

Same situation as Boston practically.

In Boston he's third or fourth on the depth chart.  In Houston he's seventh.  I'd say that's a pretty big difference.

In Boston he is two injuries away from playing a bit.  In Houston he is the black plague away from playing a bit.

3rd or 4th in the depth chart? What?

KG - Wilcox - Bass - Sullinger - Green ---------- Johnson

And we're not done signing players yet.

If you count power forwards and centers, he moves further down Houston's depth chart too.

I would think a few of those guys you listed will play Center for us.  I would not advise playing a lineup with only four guys.

They may play Center, but they're PF in actuality. The point is, regardless of what big guy goes down, all those guys will be ahead of Johnson for playing time regardless of position.

And my point is that Houston has even more of those guys ahead of him.  Call them power forwards, call them centers, whatever.  You start two big guys at once.  He is two or three injuries from being in our rotation.

Pretend KG, Sullinger, and Bass all get injured.  Do you suggest we play Wilcox and Jeff Green 48 minutes each?  He's probably at least in the rotation as of today with only two injuries.

He was behind only kg and bass last season and didn't sniff the court...

And if KG or Bass had been injured?  The only point I am trying to make is that Houston has more bodies in front of him. Call the unnecessary attack dogs off.  It is true, whether you want to admit it or not.

let me correct my original thought... bass was the only player ahead of JJJ and he couldn't even earn minutes then!! What I'm saying, if he can't play well enough to play with one guy ahead... he won't be able to behind the guys in Houston, it doesn't matter how many are ahead!

He played about 300 minutes last year.  Mostly in garbage time and a small number regardless.  But that is more than 0.  There are guys on NBA rosters that played less.

Or are you going to argue that 0 minutes is more than 300?  They could have played him zero.

Give it a rest.

And just wondering, ImShakHeIsShaq, have you heard the reports that Dwight is willing to accept an extension in Los Angeles?  Reportedly due to their franchise history and the opportunities in that market?  Off topic, I know, but just wondering.

Your argument is bordering on being stupid! A lot of those minutes were when Bass was out for 2 weeks and kg missed like 3 games. Of course I don't mean he NEVER played... I just mean he couldn't eek out time with practically no one ahead of him so it shouldn't matter if more people are ahead of him!
Suggesting that other members / members' arguments are "stupid" is not acceptable.  Please don't do it again, and please review our posting rules related to tone.

You are clearly having trouble understanding my point.  He had an opportunity in Boston to play some minutes.  In Houston, he will have even less of an opportunity because there are more bodies there.  That is all.  I don't understand why you are trying to make more out of this or a big deal out of this.  Just a simple comment that Houston has more big men than Boston.  Not a federal case or a reason to call someone stupid.

Perhaps embarassed that you were so wrong about Dwight Howard?

Tell JaJuan and his agent that they are the ones being stupid.  They requested the trade, that is just my interpretation as to the reason.  You can disagree if you want, but move on with your life.

I'd prefer Lee to Brooks, so I guess it ended up well.

Really, I don't even know what you are talking about when it comes to Howard... maybe you know something that excites you that I could care less about?

I didn't call you stupid! I said the argument you were making was borderline stupid (what was the point of the 0-300 mins comment?)!

My point is, he couldn't earn more than garbage/no choice but to play him minutes behind Bass (occasionally and old and tired KG)... it doesn't matter if it's one or 20 people ahead of him... he must not be working hard enough to earn minutes!

Do people not get that, according to reports, if Ainge hadn't been able to trade down, he would have taken JJJ at #25?  There is no way that Brooks was ever going to be on the Celtics roster.

not

Does Dwight want to sign an extension in Los Angeles or not?  Because you're usually wrong about these types of things.
 Quit baiting others.

So what is the Lee holdup from it becoming official?

I mean even if it isn't officially inked shouldn't we hear reports that the deal is done in principal and in a hand shake agreement? It doesn't sound finalized yet.

I hate to interrupt the fight here but some people have said in this thread that we couldn't resign Moore for a year if he gets waived by Houston.  From the collective bargaining agreement... and I've read this collective bargaining agreement three times and posted excerpts to answer people's questions and haven't received a single TP for it.  I'm not begging here but...).

So anyway, here is the relevant part;

"(g)
If a Team trades a player and the assignee Team subsequently terminates the Player’s Contract, the assignor Team shall not be permitted to sign the player to a new Contract until at least thirty (30) days have passed following the date all conditions to the trade were satisfied (or until at least twenty (20) days have passed in the case of a trade that occurs during the period from the last day of a Season through the first day of the following Regular Season)."

After this section it goes in to talking about BRI.  So unless there is an amendment in another section that applies, this is the rule.  This is the CBA that is in effect now.

Consider a TP granted.  Good information to know for this and future trades of this type.

Ainge pulled off a great trade, moving spare parts  for a solid player. It's been a pleasantly surprising off season.

As for JJJ, I don't get why going to Houston is a problem. Why don't you outwork and outplay the other power forwards on the team and earn minutes?
