I think we also have to give lee some credit here, based on the package  that we gave up I think it's pretty clear he let Houston know he wanted to come here and asked them to help him get here.

After the mayo thing last year I love that lee trruly wanted to play here
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I hate to interrupt the fight here but some people have said in this thread that we couldn't resign Moore for a year if he gets waived by Houston.  From the collective bargaining agreement... and I've read this collective bargaining agreement three times and posted excerpts to answer people's questions and haven't received a single TP for it.  I'm not begging here but...).

So anyway, here is the relevant part;

"(g)
If a Team trades a player and the assignee Team subsequently terminates the Player’s Contract, the assignor Team shall not be permitted to sign the player to a new Contract until at least thirty (30) days have passed following the date all conditions to the trade were satisfied (or until at least twenty (20) days have passed in the case of a trade that occurs during the period from the last day of a Season through the first day of the following Regular Season)."

After this section it goes in to talking about BRI.  So unless there is an amendment in another section that applies, this is the rule.  This is the CBA that is in effect now.

That loophole should be closed now. Where are you reading the new CBA since according to Mr. Coon:

Quote
115. Can I get a copy of the actual Collective Bargaining Agreement?

The Collective Bargaining Agreement is a very long legal contract between the league and the Players Association, and is written in dense legalese. It is my hope that this FAQ answers all your questions. However, if you really want the CBA, it is usually available from the players association's web site at http://www.nbpa.org/. However, as of this writing, the players association does not yet have the CBA online. Bound copies of the CBA are no longer available from the league office.

Unfortunately, the CBA doesn't answer every question. The NBA, like most organizations, has by-laws, which are separate and apart from whatever contracts it may make with other entities such as the players association. Many of the rules are contained in separate documents such as the NBA By-Laws and the NBA Constitution. While it is possible for the public to obtain the CBA, the league office says the By-Laws and Constitution are absolutely off-limits.

Who knows, weird financial rules for one. It will get done though. Rumors about JJJ "Demanding:" a S&T, (****, yeah JJJ has the authority to do that) are not true.

Ainge pulled off a great trade, moving spare parts  for a solid player. It's been a pleasantly surprising off season.

As for JJJ, I don't get why going to Houston is a problem. Why don't you outwork and outplay the other power forwards on the team and earn minutes?

At the risk of getting attacked for no real reason, the rationale that JaJuan is taking is likely that the guys in front of him are mostly recent 1st Round picks by the Rockets (Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris, Dontas Moitiejunas, Terrence Jones, Royce White).

So there is the potential that they will try to develop their own 1st Round picks even if JaJuan outplays and outworks them in camp and practice.

After all, Morey (and McHale) saw something in these guys when they were drafted.  They are likely to try to develop it.

That is the possible rationale.  CelticsBlog members, lend me your shields.

Is this deal official or not yet

not

Does Dwight want to sign an extension in Los Angeles or not?  Because you're usually wrong about these types of things.

I'm going to reply to you ONCE more!

I already said MANY times that he would sign an extension to ANY team he was traded to b/c he would have practically no other team for more/equal money nor would they be better than the team he was traded to... try READING! I also said he wants out of Orl. so bad that he is just going to accept going to a place he doesn't want to go to (just because he would rather be a Laker than continue what he is going through in Orl)!!! He is also not choosing to go there, they were going to take him regardless and pretty much force his hand! He is conceding because this is his only way out! Weather and market is not bringing him in!! These teams (be it LA or Hous) is forcing his hand because he is NOT a FA!

I have said it probably 10 times... I'm not arguing that players don't choose LA for those reasons... only that Shaq is really the only one of the 3 to CHOOSE to go there (DH is only conceding to a choice they were making either way... he has fun n sun in Orl... only difference is bigger market in LA)! DH would CHOOSE, if he could, the Nets!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

You suggested rudely earlier that I "try reading".  I suggest you do the same.

Howard has always been impressed with the Lakers’ winning tradition and intrigued with the off-court opportunities that come with playing in Los Angeles.

This is also my final reply to you.  Looks like the market had nothing to do with it.  ::) I'm sure those same off-court opportunities exist in Orlando!  ::) You look sillier with each post, so no longer replying is probably your best course of action.  There is more to a market than just sun.

I'm basically just gonna copy & paste what I said in the other thread:

"Once he's traded, he's a Rockets player. Just because he was drafted by a different team, doesn't make him a red-headed step-child. If he proves that he's better in training camp and practice than those other guys, he'll get playing time.

This whole demanding trades thing is sickening when its superstars doing it, I don't see how a 2nd year forward who has proven NOTHING makes it more respectable."
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

That is probably his agent's line of thinking.  I doubt JaJuan himself has an immediate knowledge of Houston's roster.

This could also be just momentary disappointment from being traded and an overreaction that cools down over time.

Rockets have a lot of redundancy and just a strange strange roster I can't help but think they are still gonna be wheeling and dealing (Dwight Howard or no) to get a roster that makes some kind of sense.  Even though Kevin McHale was one of the all time great power forwards he can't want a roster with Jeremy Lin,Omer Asik and 7832 power forwards going into the season

Celtics got the best player in the deal, by far. It is win for the Cs. Hate to see Moore and JJJ go, but best of luck to them, and welcome to Boston Mr. Lee.
Celtics fan for life.

Changing the subject back to Courtney Lee, Lee gives our roster a ton of potential lineup options and a slew of guys to throw at Miami.  This is a very exciting acquisition.

How did he defend Wade when he was in Orlando?  Anyone remember?

#Celtics-#Rockets Courtney Lee deal NOT done. JaJuan Johnson hasn't requested trade from HOU, but he'd welcome it, given the # of HOU PFs.
