I'm guessing the Charlotte 2nd rounder is going out, maybe our own 2nd as well?  Portland ain't taking JJJ for nothing.

Still a bit apprehensive after the David West deal.

But this would certainly be a GREAT thing, here.

0.85+0.85+1.09+0.76=3.55*1.5+0.1 ~ 5.4 mill

yeah with pavs in the deal lee can get a starting salary of about 5.4 mill

good deal still i thinks.

By my estimates, that puts us at 69.5m for 12 players (including Green @9m).  This isn't including Stiemsma'a QO, which does still count against the cap, but not lux tax calculations.

Why would we though?  What would be the motivation for either side?  Does Portland need to send out salary to make the deal work?  I can't say I'm too up-to-date on Portland's cap situation.

That's pretty much around where I have it. We're close to the apron as it is, I think we're better off using the BAE this year rather than saving it.

But since we don't know the final details of quite a few contracts, then I don't know how it'll all affect this/next year. With Lee in hand, I assume Green's deal will get finalized in short order.

Portland doesn't need to send anything to make the deal work, if both players are making the min

They might be getting moore or a pick, or they might like pavs and be willing to help out the c's to score points with an agent

By sending pavs the c's can accomdate a higher salary for lee in the deal.

Note the max the c's can pay is 5.4 mill, doesn't mean Lee is getting that much.

But Ainge was able to connect with former teammate, now Rockets coach, Kevin McHale yesterday when the team reportedly agreed to send last year’s draft picks JaJuan Johnson, E’Twaun Moore, former Boston College standout Sean Williams, and the 2013 second-round draft pick — which originally belonged to Charlotte — the team was awarded as compensation for Jeff Green’s heart ailment to the Rockets for Lee in the creative, and potentially tenuous, sign-and-trade.

The proposed trade for Lee comes within two weeks of the five-year anniversary of the trade that sent five players and two draft picks to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Garnett when McHale was the Wolves’ general.

Not sure what effect Danny reaching out to McHale has in reality since he's only the coach, but interesting that it specifically mentions their interaction and perhaps McHale's influence on Daryl Morey was the nudge that Houston needed to make this deal actually happen.

McHale with another assist.  That makes 2 now, which is more than he had in his entire playing career with the C's.
