the best thing about Lee is he should buy and fit right in w/ Doc having a good relationship with him

to make it even better he will be playing with Rondo and on a contender now

I honestly don't know much about Courtney Lee.  How do we feel about this?  Is he just a solid replacement for Pietrus off the bench?... do you suspect he'll be more than that?  I hear mediocre defender/shooter, but with some good range.  What's the expectation with him?  Most of you are gonzo about Avery Bradley starting despite the fact he and Terry are both too small to be starting SG's (they are about the same size).  Lee is bigger, at least.

I like it... looks like he's got a pretty quick release and a nice stroke.  If he can play solid defense I wouldn't be shocked to see him getting minutes over Bradley.  He's bigger and probably a better shooter.  I'm still in favor of staring Pierce at SG and Jeff Green at his natural SF position, but maybe you can move Green to the bench, start Lee and Pierce together... Let Terry and Bradley split minutes off the bench.

We should all be happy that players (JET, Lee) who were heavily courted by multiple teams wanted to come to Boston, the place free agents supposedly don't want to go to.

Let's leave the b-ball stuff up to Danny and Doc.  Doc was all over Lee.  He obviously likes him and believes he will work in our system.  That's all I need to know.

Strong defender- just as good as Pietrus, although not as good a rebounder as Pietrus.
Has a nice pull up 15 footer and can hit the open three.
Think of a poor man's Rip Hamilton (the prime detroit version) that can play defense and just shoots at a lower clip.

Can space the floor and defend the elite wings.
Dunno if he's worth 4 players and a nice pick but we are going for the glory it appears so I guess we had to make some sacrifices.

Giving up those young guys makes me think that Sully may be starting by the All Star break depending on his development/impact/conditioning. Wouldn't be surprised if he overtakes Bass' production by then.

Given that Williams and Pavlovic weren't making the team, I don't think we really gave away 4 players for him.

We really gave up Moore and Johnson, which is not necessarily bad, since we now have some roster space open to bring in Christmas, resign someone like Dooling, and find sign another backup center.

somehow don't think JJJ was going to be an impact player for the Celtics ,even in years to come.  Lee is taller than Moore and sorta gives the team a little of Pietrus's game at the same time . Freeing up space for other needs.

Hope we could get another center.

Ainge might have gotten involved with McHale by telling him how good Moore really is,  and that he'd be an asset to a young team.

I can't believe I went through all 35 pages and not one post with the actual specifics of the deal.  Does anyone have the actual specifics, in particular, what is the full set of transactions involving Portland?  I've only seen they're getting Sasha but nothing about what they're sending out.

Hollinger crunched some of the numbers in terms of the max we could have paid Lee:

It would be crazy if Lee got $6 million per season, and Mayo settled for $4 million.
