How Do You Feel About Ray Allen Signing with Miami?

He's a bitter traitor/sellout, taking the easy way to another ring.

A quote that best sums this whole thing up is from one of my favorite shows, "The Wire". As Michael's about to kill Snoop, she says to him, "You were never one of us...you never could be."

And then she says, "How does my hair look?" Sounds just like something Mr. OCD would say.

Take your singular talent to South Beach, Ray.

Hasta luego.

Yes, he's a professional, and this decision doesn't change that. Being a professional, and constantly accepting being treated like trash by the team you play for are two different things.

The Celtics were not really interested in keeping Ray. If they were, they would have made a better offer than the one they did.

Woah, I dont think Ray was treated like trash. Come on. He was treated like the 4th best player on the team, who was probably going to be permanently passed by Green, Bradley and Terry. Ray is no longer an all star level player.

In Miami he'll be the 6th best player behind James, Wade, Bosh, Battier, and Chalmers.

Yes Ray is a professional. But he also couldn't handle being treated like a role playing 5th or 6th man. Thats what he is now. There will be a honeymoon for a few months or a year in Miami, and then he'll be treated just like any other 6th man. If I'm Miami I don't want to reduce Chalmers or Battier's roles. Those guys are pests on defense.

I didnt watch much of ray in his milwaukee days but I did in seattle an instanly loved watching him drill shot after shot and those crazy game winners.

Watching the big 4 perform was an amazing thing to watch, they had amazing chemistry and I will always love that team.

And Ray was just as big of a part of why we were a contender as RR,PP and KG was. He wasnt as consistant always but he diffently was a difference maker in some of those games I never understood why everyone always pointed the blame to him and never pierce or rondo.

And after read the woj article it does make sense you could see he didnt feel as wanted sure every one of them was in the trade talks but he was the only one who got shipped to the bench and I think that singled him out.

I think Lebron knew Ray didnt feel wanted before FA started and he used it to his advantage with all those tweets.
Ray was in a 5 year relationship and got dumped by the love of his life (celtics) and felt lost. lebron sweet talked him and made him feel wanted and now Miami is his rebound.

I dont blame Ray for leaving in some sense but it still sucks its to those classless losers in miami.
I would rather him join the lakers anyday atlease I got some respect for them.

A part of me wants to see him win another ring cause I cant hate the guy but if its against us he is now the enemy
I may still check rays stats to see how hes still doing and if hes making it rain 3s, but I dont think I can ever watch him on tv again or cheer for him the same way.

Ray shoulda had #20 in the rafters as a star now he will just go out a role player for the most hated team ever.

Ray proved Danny right for shopping him at the trade deadline.  He was trying to get something for his expiring deal.  Instead, he's left with nothing.  Too bad Danny couldn't pull the trigger for Mayo during the season ... perhaps would've won us a title this past year, as a hobbled Ray was a big-time liability in the playoffs.  Oh well.

Or the constant shopping (nothing wrong with that) helped push Ray out.

Are you saying that Allen's 37% shooting and turn style defense in the ECF hindered the Cs chance at an 18th title last month?

Ray could have just requested for a trade since he was constantly in trade rumors. It could've at least meant a better parting of ways on both sides. We get somebody in return and he gets the pay he wanted. He just couldn't take it in him that he'd been a defense liability since 2010 (as evidenced by his inability to stop the SGs of opposing teams particularly Kobe in the finals). It was clearly evident again against Dwade and to the other SGs he was assigned to defend in the recent playoffs. Instead, he chose to spat on our faces.

Classless.

What is he, 14 years old?  It's a NBA GMs job to shop his players.  Every Celtic was shopped.  You don't see them selling out and joining the franchise that's made a mockery of the league.

I equate players taking less money to chase a ring equivalent to the parents of the 3 best players in a little league colluding to have their kids play together ... it pretty much makes a mockery of any fair competition.  Ray perpetuated this.

Ray was one of few Celtic players who actually looked like he came to play in Game 7, so good luck on that one.

Ray didn't prove Danny right about anything. If Danny wasn't trying to get rid of Ray Allen, it wouldn't have come to this. Ray would have stayed.

He is an older star who doesn't want that uncertainty effecting his family.

It come out after his meeting in Miami that he despises Chalmers. Hopefully this will make it interesting for the Heat in a negative way.

Classless.

Yep. At least Nash asked the front office if its cool and got them some picks out of it.  As much as don't like Nash now for going to the Lakers, he's still has some class left in him...
