How Do You Feel About Ray Allen Signing with Miami?

He's a bitter traitor/sellout, taking the easy way to another ring.

Ray didn't look at the big picture . He thinks he did. But not really.  20 years from now it willbe remebered for waht it was to the fans of Boston. A stab in the back. Its best to end your career in harmony , not controversy. He'll regrett this move one day . Chace to go down in history mentioned with all the Boston greats , Russell, Bird, KG , Pierce....

Like Benedict Arnold his legacy now has a black mark.

Now it is apparent he did as much as possible to spit inthe face of his teamates, owner, fans and Doc too with his no remorse, 27 million acts of screw you guys I"M LEAVING TOWN.

He could have just asked out, made his piece and left . He wanted a bit of revenge , and thus will now pay the price with a blimish on his greatest moments that came as a Celtic.

The man everybody said was all class turned out to be LOW CLASS.

Have fun in Miami

I agree, leaving the Celtics in the manner that he did, to the team that he did, will end up being a black mark on his legacy.

As Celtic fans we think being a Celtic means everything to everyone. What if he wins 3 rings in Miami and becomes loved by that city? You think he'll lose sleep over what we think?

Miami is a HORRIBLE sports town..he wont be remembered there for being a spot up shooter off the bench.

Boston is probably one of the best sports towns in the country..if you build a legacy here you will be remembered for a LONG TIME

At least in Boston he could claim to be one of the big three even though his play has dropped off some. In Miami he'll just be one of the role players that were lucky enough to be on the team when James/Wade/Bosh were bringing home titles. He won't be some conquering hero.

as if it couldn't any get worse, ray allen jumps ship to the pirates of south beach..it was sad that he lost his starting job to a "nobody",but clearly he was not tip-top..that crazy wojo guy from yahoo, adding insult to injury makes the revelation that ray's getting back at the organization for him being a trade bait all the time, what does that say about pierce, all the more rondo, who was always hanging by the porch ready to be thrown out any time..all i can say, ray allen was totally classless, selfish and ignorant, ignorant of his deteriorating skills, there's only so much of your mind can tell your failing body to do and that's how detached you were from reality mr. shuttlesworth..appreciates KG even more..

it puts into question Allen's competitive fire IMO...he would rather get a ring standing in a corner being a glorified role-player than actually BEATING that team.

this may be getting out of hands. Plus Doc and Danny wanted to replace him a long time ago.

It's a shame that he wants to be just another guy on that team.

He's rapidly approaching the point where he's generally unable to create enough seperation running through screens to get off a shot. Part of it's trying to get more rings, part of it's wanting to be on a team where he's open because defenses ignore him.

I agree with Basketball Tim.  I have worked in the field of Human Services for 20+ years and have a Masters of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling degree from a top 10 grad program in the country.

There is NOTHING "borderline" OCD about Ray.  He is full blown.  I agree with most of what you say Roy, but you really couldn't be more wrong with the use of that adjective my friend.  I realize that you are trying to be nice and politically correct and all and make it sound like there was equal fault between Ray and Rajon, but really?:-)))))

He is a proffessional. Did anyone hear Ray say "I don't like playing with Rondo" during the season? Did anyone hear Ray say "I should start over Avery Bradley" when he was replaced?

No, all of these statements came from "sources". He has a right to choose where he wants to go during free agency and he chose Miami. Sure he took less than he could have gotten here, but don't veterans do that all the time. He didn't like his situation and you can't hardly blame him. He will get less minutes because of Terry, he will be even more expendable and he knows he will come up during the trade deadline even more because of that.

It hurts that he went to our enemy. It feels like a satab in the back. It would have felt like that no matter how he ended up at the Heat but to say he didn't handle it like a professional is unfair to him.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Well it's not like we didn't shop him at every trade deadline the last 3 years. I can understand him leaving, it just stinks that he chose Miami. I hope the Garden is willing to clap for him when the montage is rolling before they rain down boos during the game.

They offered him a no-trade clause, Ray was set on leaving no matter what probably sometime during the All Star break.

Yes, he's a professional, and this decision doesn't change that. Being a professional, and constantly accepting being treated like trash by the team you play for are two different things.

The Celtics were not really interested in keeping Ray. If they were, they would have made a better offer than the one they did.

So you're saying offering Ray twice as much money a year as he's getting doesn't show an interest in keeping him?
