Ray proved Danny right for shopping him at the trade deadline.

This argument is in oposite direction. Danny proved Ray right. I will show you with facts...

1. Cs hopping to sign Ray(I do not trust this fantaidea) and sign Terry(?!) What does it mean?! We do not need you Ray
2. Danny tried in 2 last season to trade Ray close to trade line market on Februare...What does it mean?! We do not need you Ray
3. Ray lost the starting status during this season. What does it mean?! We do not need you Ray. Plus that you can not be hipocrit telling that Ray was asumed in BIG3 team(?!) Strange

Ray left to join the Miami Heat. What does it mean?

We do not need you Ray!

For me is not important where he goes(who cares), but WHY HE LEFT

For me it IS important where he went.

So for you Ray was a good guy if he signs for Bobcats or Washington?!

Knowing the way Stern runs things, I would expect the celtics to outplay the heat the night the heat get their rings, only to have the refs make a string of garbage calls in the 4th to tie the game, and then Joey Crawford himself will hand the ball to Ray for an open game winner while Wade takes out Bradley "Rondo style", putting Bradley out for the season.

He could have went ANYWHERE except maybe the Lakers. And even then I probably wouldn't have minded as much as this. At least then the stakes wouldn't be high unless we met for the title.

We're going to see Ray often. And he's going to have a hand in how good or bad our season goes. He is DIRECTLY in line to what the Celtics are trying to accomplish and that is to get past the Heat.

So yeah, Ray would have been a hell of a guy almost anywhere else.
The Celtics aren't quitters. Why should you be? - blind homer

How about a little group therapy?

Where was I when I first heard Ray was officially going to Miami?

I was at this adult day care center for older disabled peeps in Cambridge, at which I volunteer every week. I had arrived just after having one of the worst mornings of my life (won't go into detail). One of the clients there is very loud and talkative, and is always listening to a small radio and speaking out about it. He's also a Celtics fan, which made us buddies to begin with. Also, he does speak a lot of nonsense. But, out of nowhere he just shouts out "Ray Allen to Miami, Ray Allen To Miami!!!!"

I just ignored him, not wanting to deal with, or process the information for it might not even be true. There had been numerous false tweets and rumors saying he's going to Miami, and I just couldn't deal at that very moment. To quote Eli Roth, DenialVille is a very enjoyable place to live in.

I'm glad I didn't. The minute I had left that day, I made some calls and checked online...

It's true.

"Ray Allen has signed with the Heat according to multiple reports." Screw you, weei.

This will be one of the biggest adjustments of my young life, having had Ray Allen help win us a championship when I was a freshman in high school, and him having that impact on my life. It hit harder than the Perk trade, by far.

I woke up today, bitter; and the Woj article only made things worse.

I always thought Ray was the most down to earth athlete in Boston. Professional, consistent, mentally tough, loyal, and kind of old school. I get the riffs in his relationship with the team, and even understand him leaving. But to the Heat though... Really Ray?

Honestly, I feel like I just lost a good friend, even a role model I had through high school. It's like a family member moving away and living with a new family. He wasn't my favorite Celtic, but he was Ray! Freaking RayRay! Freaking Jesus Shuttlesworth! I don't ever think I can watch "He Got Game" again.

I had to go to Celticsblog to express myself, because if I were to have this conversation with anyone close to me (non die-hard C's fans) they'd just look at me funny, and flat out not get it.

Perhaps I'm in shock and I'll feel different in time, but remember one thing: people aren't realizing, this only isn't the end of Ray Allen in Boston;

This is the end of the Big 3.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

I honestly wish we could condense all the "Ray is leaving" threads into one big one because there are already so many of them and most of them are people just venting and dealing with it in a similar way to this one.

Ray leaving is like your girlfriend dumping you and then hooking up with the guy you hated in high school.

TP, Larry,

But, I'm feeling much less sentimental about Ray.

And, I'm psyched about the JET coming on board, the Professor looking like he'll be back and healthy, and the Honey Badger ready to go by training camp.

I hope we can help you work through your angst.

Did you watch any of the 1st two rounds of the playoffs?  AB was playing with a dislocated / severely injured shoulder the whole time.  That kid gave everything he had until the team shut him down.  Don't try to turn RA's decision into a question of what AB gave us last year.  I think the team's record after AB was inserted into the starting lineup says a lot.

But Ray's decision wasn't about AB, it was about Ray.  Ray had the choice to come back, he choose not to.

Senninsage,

Yes, Ray had a fantastic 13 Efficiency Rating in Game 7.  That was one point away from his high for the series, +14, which he did twice.  He had an Efficieny Rating of 10.43 for the series vs. the Heat.  Yes, we certainly should have paid him 9 million a year for three stinking years.  (Oh, and don't forget making him ONLY the third player in the league with a NO TRADE clause:-)))

He was Hurt

What did Bradley do?

How he left just doesn't sit well with me.

** More money offered by Ainge
** Same organization, no move required
** Winning organization

I want to play his team right now, in the Eastern Conf Finals.  I want to beat him off the court & I want to accidentially spill a cherry slurpee all over his moms sequin #20 Heat Jersey.

...and that she hated too.....ultimate classless, self-debasing revenge f*#@.

I said alomst exactly this in a thread I started a couple of days ago about Allen having too much class to do this:

"I saw this coming when Allen, Wade and LeBroid had that lovefest on the floor at the end of game 7 of the ECF.

This is kinda like you p---ing off your girl friend , and to get back at you she goes and sleeps with your sworn enemy who was also her sworn enemy. Ray's not that kinda guy"

Boy was I wrong.

The one quote from the Godfather that doesn't apply here is when Don Corleone says "Honorable men go with honorable men."

Don't see any honorable men in the above picture....except DA.

Classy.
Professional.
Loyal.
Team Player
Sacrifice.
Committed

All the words that used to be used to describe Ray Allen.

No longer.  The Woj piece, made some sense.
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--heat-gave-ray-allen-reason-to-again-feel-wanted.html

It explained why Ray left.
I mean its kind of like why your spouse cheated on you and ran away with your worst enemy.
There's always a reason.

Let's hope that the Celtics aren't dumb enough to put up some highlight video of Ray Allen when he comes back to the Garden.

No.  He does not get his number retired.
No we do not cheer him.

He was a merc.  He came. He shot.  He won a title and left.
He was not a real Celtic.

Can't ever think of a time this has occurred in Boston.
Jo Jo White might have been the closest thing.
He was going to quit the team.  He demanded a trade and was sent to Golden State.
Cowen's retired and then ended up on Don Nelson's Milwalkee Bucks, a rival in the 80's.

Has Boston ever embraced those players the same way ever again?

6 million a year-twice as much money.
A no trade contract.-  job security
A city that loved him.- seriously

Hard to find any excuses on this one.

His feelings got hurt because he almost got traded.
His ego got hurt because he was a 6th man.
Tell that to Hondo.  Tell that to McHale.

Go to South Beach.

You deserve Lebron and Wade and Bosh.  Pat Riley.

But don't come home to New England.

There ain't no banners for you.

We don't want to attend your HOF speech,
anymore than we want to listen to Michael Jordan rant.

You just don't get it.

Karma has a way of catching up on you.

Your legacy.

The all time leading Three-Point Shooter.

Perhaps Pat Riley will hire you when you retire?  To be part of the Heat organization?
LOL
