TO be honest, I'd rather keep Bradley and our two picks.  There are going to be players who will fall, and with two picks we can pick up someone who has talent but maybe some issues which can pay off huge in the long run.  And with this team very close to rebuilding I think having 2 picks in the 20-21 range is a lot better than moving up to the 7-10 range where the talent is marginally better. This drafts talent is arguably pretty close from 6-22.

Yeah, I agree with this wholeheartedly. Looking at the draft board, I'm a little nervous because I think the talent drops off significantly right around where we are picking, but I'm anticipating a couple people falling into our laps.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

if you could move up and get #2 but had to take tyrus thomas's contract back, would you and what do you think we would have to send to charlotte?

I'd be more interested in trading down from one of those spots, and picking up assets from a team desperate to move up.

Any kind of draft night trade involving Thomas would have to involve either Pierce or Rondo, as the remaining tradeable contracts on the roster don't add up to enough salary.

I think where we are is a pretty great position.  We have Back-2-Back picks right at the bottom of one tier/ start of the next.  We are in prime position to take the top talent that slips from the tiers ahead of us.

If the KG trade in 2007 tells us anything, we need to acquire as much talent as we can which will down the line facilitate a blockbuster trade.  I feel like taking the chances on Sullinger slipping and Royce White two very talented players that teams may be questionable can really pay off.  And if only one works out and we keep Bradley I think this team will be in a good position when it's time to rebuild.

I absolutely would, but I don't think Boston really has a package that would intrigue Charlotte without including Rondo.  I just don't think a package of Bradley, Johnson, 21, and 22 is going to be better than other offers Charlotte would get and no other trade package really makes sense.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I wouldn't trade Rondo for any pick outside of #1, Anthony Davis. If somehow the C's could land Howard for a Rondo plus package, I'd do it. When you have a chance to get an MVP level center, you have to do it and hope you can resign him.

If someone is willing to trade a top 5-7 pick to Boston for Pierce. You'd have to take that deal. Pierce only has a year or 2 left in him. It would hurt to lose him, but the players available in the 5-7 range would be very tempting.

As for swapping the 21, 22 and say Johnson for a number 10 pick, I think I'd rather hold the current picks. The star prospects drop off after 7 or 8. The guys in the 9-24 range look like rotation players without all star potential.

If you can crack the top 7 with a package of Bradley, 21, 22, I would do that. The top 7 guys look really solid.

Charlotte would likely find much better packages than what we can offer. Cleveland would likely offer #4 and #24 for their pick. If Charlotte wanted to trade back yet again, it might get interesting for us.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm having conflicting emotions. I'd like to see all our key guys back, especially KG, and I want to see Pierce retire a Celtic, but if KG isn't coming back, and Ray walks, I think we need to go into serious rebuild mode with a high lottery pick—but that would probably meaning trading Pierce, and I don't want that. I can't imagine Pierce in another jersey; I sure as heck don't want the Lakers getting him somehow, and I think it would almost be an insult to send him to a crap team like the Warriors. Can you imagine seeing Pierce in a Golden State jersey? Ugh.

Anyway, I think we should keep Rondo at all costs. I'd hate to see Bradley go, but if it means getting a possible All-Star (or better) talent, someone who could be a real game-changer for several years to come, I think we have to do it. I'm also hoping that if we do get into the lottery, we don't use that pick on Rivers—I wouldn't mind having him, but not for that price.

Personal feelings aside, obviously if Garnett retires and we have the opportunity to give up Pierce for a mid-high lottery pick, it's an easy decision basketball-wise for the future. And that answer is go for it. I don't want Pierce to go, but I hope Danny is more cold-hearted than I am.

That's almost exactly how I feel.
Hurts to write it, but I feel that way, too.

If KG has told Danny that he's done, then the C's are done. Pierce might well just retire himself. In that case, Danny should get something for him if he can. Let's hope this isn't what is going to happen.
