  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
To me, most likely things happening here:

1)KG is retiring.
2)KG is coming back for next to nothing and we are taking on salary with a late lottery pick(Meyers Leonard or the best bigs after Drummond).
3)Pierce is being moved with Bass plus picks.
4) Avery is being moved with pick 21 and 22, plus Bass.

I would love Drummond but don't see how we can get him without moving Rondo. I don't think Ainge will move Rondo.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Our team is built around Rondo, I don't see how Danny trades him to get a lottery pick in this draft.

I can see him trading Avery Bradley.  I wouldn't be happy, but in Danny I trust.

I see Danny trading Rondo more than many others on the board.  The history is there, he has tried in the past.  Look out for Sacramento (prior thread here) and that 5.  NBADraft.net has Sacramento taking Drummond with it.  I don't see that, so I see Rondo, 21 and 22 heading West and Evans and the 5 heading our way (plus filler if needed).

Question for the people suggesting we are taking on salary to move up. Is that possible? With our current cap holds aren't we over the cap anyway?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

would the bulls trade MJ if they were struggling?

Would the lakers trade Magic?

would the celtics trade Bird?

would the heat trade James?

Now this is a short list of Hall of famers that GM's built around and hit gold. Think about these every time you think about trading rondo. Everyone else may be on the block for different reasons (ageing, injuries) but not your perfectly healthy future HOF.

A few points id like to address:

----C's dont need a player or players to address their rebounding flaws. (they just need to box out and not have a bunch of jump shooters standing around)

---- KG will not play Center for an entire year

----- we need  guards BIG TIME

---- AB does not look like the starter of the future (trade him while the iron is hot.)

---- load up on young guys while we CAN instead of when we NEED to. We can load up on youngs now and if they pan out we are the spurs if they dont we still have a core (big 3) to rely on to carry us.

The key here are the words "late lottery". To me, that means #10-#14. Do you give up Bradley and one of our picks for that range? No. Most likely, we're talking to Milwaulkee about getting #14 for #21 and #22 + JJJ. With Monta and Jennings, their good with guards, but they need more options at the 3, 4 and 5
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

No way does Danny make that trade.

I will drive up to Boston and drown Danny in the Charles River if he makes this trade.

Agree to trade before draft, trade happens after the new NBA year starts.

Just because Nbadraft.net has them taking #5 doesn't mean they have to - one of MKG or Barnes should be there at #5, I see them drafting an SF before the pick up Drummond.

As far as that rumor, its just that. Chad Ford said the C's did love Evans once upon a time but that was when he was prior to him being drafted. There's been no inclination that Danny is still high on him - just people regurgitating the failed 2010 trade attempt.

on Real GM someone is basically saying that they will move Bradley + pick (s) for Austin Rivers.

Big gamble- kid could be a superstar, he reminds me of a young kobe. We need bigs though, so I hope it's for Drummond or Leonard somehow.

The question is then who is the target?

I'm hoping for a big. Glad to see Danny not settling for Fab Melo and Royce White.

I, too, am hoping for a big.

from the way people are throwing away 1st rounders i doubt we would have to give away both picks. hell budinger was worth an 18th pick 0_o .... 1 pick + AB + a furture pick seems like a good trade.
