I disagree with this.  The knicks may have been riding melo's hot streak for the last couple of weeks, but they in no way 'should have' been a 3 or 4 seed.  They are what they are, the 7th seed.  Games are played on the court and not on paper 'potential talent'.  I get tired of everyone talking about how talented the knicks are.  For all their so called 'talent' they haven't improved on their winning % and I doubt they are going any further in the playoffs this year than they did last season.

Ever since the knicks traded for melo they have yet to play like a team (few weeks w/ Lin the exception).  I don't think they are going to beat the heat, although I wish they would.  I think we match up better with them than Miami if the C's were able to get to the ECF.

Yeah...that's the sad reality of it. Funny thing is, even without Stern and the refs protecting his butt, Wade and LeBron could probably still get in the paint, but the Heat might not be a top tier team without those prissy touch fouls...

Huh? Melo cant neutralize a chair if its in front of him, hes a terrible defender, didnt old Pierce just drop 38 on him a few games ago? He isnt shutting down anyone especially not the best player in the NBA.

Chanlder dominate? How so? He will get fouls called on him constnatly everytime Wade and Bron drive into the paint, and hes a no show on the offensive end unless the recipient of pick and roll dunks or lobs.

On paper the Knicks have talent and it could be a long series, who knows what might happen, its definately an interesting matchup though.

He means neutralize as in counterbalance LeBron's monster numbers with 40 points of his own or at least tire the crap out of him on defense.

Chandler can dominate through scoring. Sure, the Heat have defensive bigs but none 7 feet tall (not the good ones anyway). Even without anything resembling an offensive arsenal, he can beat them with just putbacks and cutting.

Truthfully, I can't stand Miami and don't watch their games due to the ill feeling I get whenever I see them, however...

He'd be in for defense to save Lebron from getting in foul trouble.  Melo's a physical player when at his best, and Battier probably matches up against Melo better than Miller.  Lebron and Melo will duke it out in the 1st for a bit, but the real contest will be which one gets fouls called against him first.

Caramelo ain't stopping any top SF, let alone the best in the league. Doubt NYK give them any troubles, maybe win a game or 2 at home with streaky shooting but they have to use Melo too much(48% shooter) when Amare is out (60% shooter).
