He's changed a lot. Cut him some slack.. Not saying he doesnt deserve a suspension, but you guys are trying to make him look like a demon, regardless of how much he's cleaned up his act recently.
Those are just the action that caused suspensions. He has plenty of questionable actions that didn't cause a suspension.
Yeah that's kind of meaningless here. Unless you can detail them, and cross-reference them against the other players in the league. As a disciplinary tool, they have the immediate evidence, other incidences like it and how they were punished, and the players' past documented history (although for me I think that's bunk as well.).
As an aside (and I would like to stress very clearly, I'm not directing this at anyone in particular. CelticsBlog isn't the only forum I read, and this stuff is all over the place), reading the 'ironic that his name is Metta World Peace' and comments like it is just so very annoying. What's that got to do with the item at hand? And where the comedians with the clever jokes and comments when
this stuff happened?
Some basic cherry-picked events:
Raffled off Championship ring for 500k to aid in mental health treatment
Donated at least half of his 2011-2012 salary to mental health charities.
That's just two things he's done in the last year or two. Two things that are likely bigger than any contribution I'll give in my life to charity.
Guy has done a lot of good. He lost his cool, did something stupid, and obviously didn't think about it first. Yeah, he should pay for it, but the hyperbolic attacks on the man just rubs me the wrong way. The NBA is so very full of terrible stories, and Ron Artest obviously helped create some of those, but he's a guy that has also showed a real attempt to change his behavior, and change his lifestyle.
