I don't get this trade.


You move down an entire round (Butler to Wright) to move up 23 spots in the 4th and back 3 rounds from the 5th?

I still have 5.14 so it was kind of a bit easy to let go on 5.4. Players are running out. Felt that high 4 was good enough. Besides, Butler and Wright are pretty close when it comes to their stats. Butler is just a bigger, much known name.

Looking at what picks you have left and the fact that you have 3 players on your team, I'm not sure if you haven't gutted your team a little too much for Westbrook. He's a great player but I don't know if he's good enough to bring a team where Dorell Wright and Spencer Hawes are the 2nd and 3rd best players to the playoffs. Unless I'm missing something.

Thoughts on my Beasley pick?

What position are you going to play him at?

He's my first guy off the bench, can come in at the 3 for Dudley or the 4 for Bargs. Or I can take out Bogut, put Bargs at the 5 and play Beasley at the 4. I feel like I have plenty of options for him.

I think he'll hurt your team a great deal then.

Thoughts on my Westbrook pick up? Not that it's gonna win me this tourney. I got "Derrick Rose SOuth" Westbrook, Hawes, Dor-L Wright and picks. Sheez, I was doing this just like last time.

I'm thinking the frontcourt is much more skilled offensively than the current Thunder, but not nearly as good defensively. Fair assessment?

Yes.


I would go as far as looking to move one of the big men for more a dirty jobs big man.  Let's be honest, both of them are not going to get the touches needed.

I made the Westbrook trade with touches in mind. With a more deferential point guard in Conley, and a very good two-way wing in Iguodala, I think I have more balance in my starting five. Hansbrough brings energy, grit, and rebounding off the bench.

I have another pick this round. Will probably go with the best wing or big available, I think, although I wouldn't be against packaging it with either Scola or Kaman for an upgrade.

Your team is going to be a lotto team this season.  Westbrook is a great building block, but you have gutted the rest of your top pieces.  You have two role players and not a lot of picks soon.

Beasely is an awful SF, he takes a lot of bad shots and kills his team's offensive sets with his poor decision making both in shot selection and on his passes. I like him better as a quick PF.

But perhaps most concerning is your mention of multiple roles and positions for him. Beasely is not a smart player and giving him an broadly defined bench role depending on match ups is asking too much of him. He'll fall upon his old bad habits and play if you give him that much freedom and/or that much responsibility.

I mean in that case I can make some picks that will allow him to have a more defined role. My team isn't even remotely complete.

Not that he's enough, but I really like Dorrell Wright's game. Even if he is struggling this year.

He's having a bad, bad year.  He's been borderline horrific on defense:  308th in the NBA in points allowed per possession.  He's regularly getting out-shot, out-scored, out-rebounded, and out-passed by his opponents.

Offensively, he's been mediocre at best.  Coupling that with his terrible defense, I don't think Wright is a very useful player at all.
