Ahmad Bradshaw is the luckiest man in America.  A fumble and a bonehead play, and he's still a champion.

Giants had Karma on their side. they recovered both of their fumbles.

Boston sports teams sure know how to lose championships. I know that the Bruins won last year, and all, but the last two Patriots super bowls and the 2010 NBA championship definitely make me want to puke.

The thing is, most teams in most cities don't even make it to the big game.

I lived in Portland Oregon for years. They have one pro sports team, the Blazers.  Residents of the city *still* talk about the early '90s like with near-tears in their eyes.

Trust me, it is much better to get to the championship game and lose, than to have nothing, year after year after year....

I'd really rather have nothing than go to the championship and lose it, EASILY.

No doubt about that.  It took me months and months to get over the 2010 loss.  Last year's loss in the playoffs healed in a matter of days.

Sounds like me in '07 with the Pats.
:)

Yeah, I can imagine that one stung for the Pats fans.

I had the 2006 Bears loss to the Colts, but that one didn't hurt so bad, because even making the Super Bowl was a Cinderella situation.

So, as a Pats fan, I'm bummed that the Pats lost.

What I'm almost more bummed about is that the team that talked the more trash won. The team that "faked" injuries earlier in the season won. The team that probably boasts more Jets fans than any other team but the Jets, especially in the last few weeks (think about that for a few seconds) won.

That type of stuff just kills my sense of karma in the world.
Celtics fan for life.

I know it's a case of subjective deprivation and we are lucky to always be among the top teams in every sport almost every year, but I just hate how it makes me [and so many others] so upset for so long. I know it sucks to never be relevant, but then at least expectations don't crash to the ground over and over again.

Sorry about the loss Boston fans.   You got a great team.   Wish my football team would just be competitive for once  .

Oh well back to Celtics

Faked injuries?

Yes, earlier in the season to run clock. The NFL had to make a rule about penalizing a team that intentionally fakes injuries just because of the Giants.

I just hate how I have to avoid all media for the next couple of weeks.

Congratulations to the Giants they won a close game. WOW if only Gronk and kept running on the hail mary maybe maybe maybe... If only Belichik had let them score sooner.. maybe maybe maybe..

This stings.....

Plus the fumble that didn't count because of 12 men on the field...

After that loss, I didn't turn on or visit ESPN, stopped coming to CB, didn't watch any sports, including Celtics games, until we were pretty much halfway through the next season or so.

An uncharacteristic play on Brady's first play that you rarely ever see in a game, nevermind the SB, completely changed the outcome. A Celtics championship would really help cure this.

Quick thoughts after a long walk that I took when the game ended:

1.  Thank God the NFL season is over, because I need a very long break from the Patriots -- perhaps one that will extend beyond next season.

2.  Tom Brady is the greatest game-manager QB ever in the NFL, and that's it.

3. Defense wins championships.  Eating up the middle of the field and scoring lots of points is great against bad-mediocre teams in the regular season, but it doesn't mean squat in the playoffs.

4. Brady and Bellichick will have to listen to people questioning the legitimacy of their legacies for the rest of their lives because they've been utterly un-clutch in big moments since Spygate.

5. I was already pessimistic about this team, but I don't think I'll ever have any faith in this core group again until the confetti is literally falling on another Patriots' victory.  I know Brady and Bellichick both have plenty years left, but I think this is the curtain call for them.  They'll have some more big wins, and they might even threaten to go to another Super Bowl, but I don't think anybody is really going to think of them as a real threat again.

6.  Patriots fans deserved a better 4th quarter than that.  What an awful, pathetic end to the season.

7.  So much for mental toughness.  The intentional grounding and 12 men on the field penalties really killed the Pats, not to mention the false start on the 3rd down stop late in the 3rd quarter deep in Giants' territory.

8. I think Pats management has to seriously look at making some major shakeup moves to remodel this team.  The all-out offense, bend-but-not-break defense scheme just doesn't cut it.

PS: It sucks to live in NYC right now.
 :-[

Jerseys not too fun either.

I got the same stomach problem as outcry right now.

I swear if Welker held onto that 1st down in the 4th, we win that game. Argh.

Remember when the Super Bowl used to suck every year?  The last dozen years or so have had some great, great games.

Meh, this game wasn't great.  Neither team really played great on offense or defense.
