I know why they shouldn't make the trade, but part of me thinks Golden State would entertain a trade for Pierce.

The real question is who/what is coming back.

Monta: Pass, Curry/Lee: I'm listening.
I'll take Curry, though I doubt they'll trade him. Lee strikes me as the guy that's going to always pad the stat sheet, but his team will never go anywhere (therefore not good enough to be a second gun on a contending team).

I'm intrigued to see what Monta can do once he's on a team that doesn't run him to the grownd with 40 mpg (and it may be a chance to buy low on him) -- but I don't think Rondo + Ellis is a good starting point for rebuilding.

if you could get monta ellis here that'd be amazing. i think he and rondo would do pretty well together to be honest, just imagine the fast break? haha. i wouldnt mind getting lee here, he's a terrific rebounder and as we all know thats a huge struggle for this team.

gsw wouldn't give up Curry for CP3, no way they give him up for a 35 year old PP . Same goes for Ellis. Makes no sense for GSW.

The only trades that make sense are

Den sends: JR Smith or Chandler s+t and Miller(expiring)
Bos sends: PP and Dooling

Por sends: Wallace or Batum and Camby,Filler
Bos sends: PP, JO

Those teams make the most sense to me and are pretty fair trades I think.

the reason the denver one does make the most sense to me out of all the trade scenarios involving pp is that he'd fit in nicely in denver as they go for a championship, and they have two players the celtics would be interested in (wilson/smith) that they can simply sign and trade while getting rid of miller's contract. they'd be getting a star player for miller practically haha. hell make them throw in a pick too, they'd do this in a heartbeat. and we'd have some nice pieces and another pick for a good draft :)

Wouldn't touch Lee, doubt Golden State would do Curry. I'm thinking Ellis.

I'm not crazy about a Rondo/Ellis pairing, and I think that's a tandem - even with another ten million dollar guy - that's destined for mediocrity.

Still, I think it's food for thought.

SIDENOTE: I really, really want Golden State to be good. (not that I think trading for Pierce would be wise for them)

Doc got burned out on Baby so I think Smith would be similar. I only trade Pierce to Denver if Nene or Gallinari is coming back too.

That's so unreasonable if you look at it outside of a C's fan view....

Den sends: Chandler or Smith s+t and Miller and Fernandez would be a great package IMO

Bos sends: PP and Dooling

for me, these trades highlight why you don't trade Pp ...what we're getting back is just  big old bag of awfulness IMO
So much easier to get us a center and deal with this in the offseason...

I really think this is much ado about nothing.  Wojo reported that contenders would be interested in Pierce if the C's are blowing it up.  In other words, they wanted to know if they could nickle and dime them for a quality player.  The chances of a team offering anything worthwhile for Pierce are just incredibly slim.

Ya, Portland I keep circling back to, but if they're making a move for Pierce I don't think they could possibly surrender Camby.

Maybe Batum, Oden and a pick for Pierce?

Money doesn't match.  Oden makes like 2 million.

Disagree.  Pierce is still an all-star swing man on essentially a two-year deal.  It's not out of the realm of possibility that some team would offer value in return (as opposed to just expiring contracts and a late 1st round pick).
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I didn't check, but I thought his qualifying option kicked in but b/c of insurance reasons the Blazers would only have to pay 2?

pas vrai. Oden's cap is 6 or so or something from the qualifying offer.

His cap hold might have been, but his cap hit is $1.5 million, and that would be the salary in any trade.  Instead of signing the QO, they renegotiated a 1 year deal.
