Playoff run.....??? :'(
That's what I said.  I have yet to count this team out.
haha wow
Mock all you want.

This team will make the playoffs, I don't doubt that for a second. Logically though with the way they're playing, you can't begrudge people a bit of a 'show me' condition.

Woj's article made me swear out loud at my computer screen in frustration. I don't know I they're gonna trade Pierce, Garnett, Allen, or Rondo, but I think if play doesn't pick up in a real big way and in a hurry, there will be a big move.

Feels like we're on the precipice of something.

I'd love to see Rudy Gay, anyway that is done straight up?

Gives the Grizz a veteren who knows how to win with their younger core?

It sucks because I think it's something we'll regret if it's Pierce we let go, he might snap out of it or may struggle throughout the season but in my opinion the lockout is in big part to blame with the cramped schedule and having tired legs. I don't like this idea at all it's only fair to keep him next year.

see thats my dilemma with it. he could remain a big contributer. but he could also jump start a highly needed rebuilding process, a move that would help this team more than trying to win a championship this year, as he still has value to teams making a serious push for a title this year. the fair thing to do is wait and see how the team looks by the march deadline. if its looking good, do nothing. if its looking bad, the best thing for both him and the team is to trade him for (good) young talent and picks to a team thats one paul pierce away from a championship and let him win one last time while he helps his celtics team begin to rebuild. dont get me wrong, i love the guy, i always will. but to be honest, I believe he would even agree to the above statement if the team looked to be in bad shape. he'll always be a celtic even if he plays somewhere else for a year or so... if you remember, though a different circumstance, bulls franchise player michael jordan did finish his career in washington. point here is, if you can get a great deal for pp... you cant turn it down, no matter the attachment. the team is the most important thing here.

I haven't looked at the entire thread but I can see a team like Denver wanting a go-to guy when needed. They have more guys than they can play since losing the overrated Melo. They need to consolidate talent a little.

I don't see it. Denver's improved without he 'consolidated talent.' Especially with Karl, my guess is that they're holding onto their guys unless you're looking at a no brainer.

I know why they shouldn't make the trade, but part of me thinks Golden State would entertain a trade for Pierce.

Hey Kevin Love is not getting a max offer from Minny, could that be an opening?? If a contender would part with some picks/young players for Pierce perhaps Minny might be willing to take that along with our picks and facilitate a 3-way trade that gets Pierce to LA and Love to Boston...

I could see Rudy Gay. Memphis could use Pierce's intangibles when ZBo gets back. Think of Pierce going to Memphis a lot like Battier did  last year but just on a much higher level. I just wonder if Danny would be committed to taking on that salary. Gay is honestly overpaid. Still he would be a great fit next to Rondo. Something he really isn't with ZBo and Gasol.

A deal like Ray Allen and Paul Pierce for Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo (who they won't resign) would be something I would like to see. Probably a pipe dream but I can see the justification of such a trade for both sides.

Then you look at moving KG. Maybe if Atlanta starts to slip they would revisit the notion of trading Josh Smith for KG. Something like Williams and Smith for KG and Daniels if he would go there. Could add in Pachulia for Bass so they get more scoring from the bigs.

Im likely getting carries away but of this happened then Jeff Green would need to be sign and traded next year. Also JO would need to be moved. Maybe Washington takes JO for Blatche in a salary dump. I think Doc could work with him.

Lol wow that is a lot huh? But If Pierce is moved I see all of the other starters going besides Rondo.

Lineup could be:

Rondo/Dooling or Bradley (one of those guys might need to be a filler)
Mayo/Pietrus/Dooling or Bradley
Gay/ Williams
Smith/Wilcox/Johnson
Blatche/Pachulia

This team wouldn't contend yet, but they fit. They could play fast. The could grow together and maybe in three years when Wade and Boozer are shadows of their former selves it could be a favorite in the East.

Hope that trade refers to the clippers and not the lakers, no way in hell would pp ever be traded to the lakers. I have a feeling the wolves are gonna sign him for a max contract they would be stupid not to,they have until the 25th but if there is some sort of pp deal that gets love to boston then it has to be done, thats a no brainer for rebuilding

The real question is who/what is coming back.

Monta: Pass, Curry/Lee: I'm listening.

got a lot going on there haha. to be honest I could already see that as an 8 seed under doc in its first year together. thats a good line up with some good talent. maybe start with something like that then attract a big name here and really get going again. not a bad line up there for a first year rebuild. oh but instead of avery bradley, use moore. save bradley for some defense but moore is so much better offensively and he's barely played.

I'll take Curry, though I doubt they'll trade him. Lee strikes me as the guy that's going to always pad the stat sheet, but his team will never go anywhere (therefore not good enough to be a second gun on a contending team).

I'm intrigued to see what Monta can do once he's on a team that doesn't run him to the grownd with 40 mpg (and it may be a chance to buy low on him) -- but I don't think Rondo + Ellis is a good starting point for rebuilding.

gsw wouldn't give up Curry for CP3, no way they give him up for a 35 year old PP . Same goes for Ellis. Makes no sense for GSW.

The only trades that make sense are

Den sends: JR Smith or Chandler s+t and Miller(expiring)
Bos sends: PP and Dooling

Por sends: Wallace or Batum and Camby,Filler
Bos sends: PP, JO

Those teams make the most sense to me and are pretty fair trades I think.
