al thornton (or james posey) and deshawn stevenson should be the only players we should be going after atm

deshawn can guard lebron and shut him down as we seen in the finals so we should go after him strongly

shutting lebron down is the way to beat the heat

DeShawn would be solid, but it would prevent us from going small.  We should look at guys who play at least 6'8 first.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We need to bring in one more player to replace Jeff Green.  It's not Nate, who has character issues that the Celtics are avoiding like the plague.  We're certainly not touching Iverson with a ten foot pole.  Right now we have no one who can cover Lebron in transition, and the Heat love nothing more than to outlet the ball to the other side of the court with Lebron out-running everyone for the easy 2.  Ideally we land:
1 Kirelenko
2 Al Thornton
3 Joey Graham
4 Julian Wright
5 Mikeal Pietrus
6 James Posey
7 Jamario Moon

this is 100% correct.
Kirilenko is target 1, then Thornton. I'd probably put Pietrus up higher because he's almost ready to play after his injury.

Forget Nate Robinson and Allen Iverson. We need a wing player who can score an open jumpshot but more importantly they MUST be able to guard the following players in the playoffs when Pierce is resting:

Lebron
Carmelo
Iguadala
Luol Deng+Rip Hamilton (Rip is 6'8")

I am cringing at some peoples ideas on the changes we need.
Our team is solid- we were VERY solid when Jeff Green coming in. We must replace what we lost with Jeff going out. That doesn't happen with Nate Robinson or some of these other bums mentioned.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Iverson is a scorer.  Whether he is a "volume" scorer, or "efficient" scorer depends on his supporting cast, his level of confidence in his supporting cast, and whats asked of him.  In Philly...he was surrounded by lower level talent and NEEDED to be a volume scorer for them to succeed.  In Denver, he had suitable talent around him, and he was an "efficient" scorer.  He did also take a lot of shots, but they were within the flow of the offense, and shot at a high level of efficiency.  He was playing "efficient" ball in memphis as well before he was shipped out.  Basically, Iverson has been progressing as a player since leaving Philly, but no one recognizes him for it because Philly is where he was most visible.

Iverson has never been an efficient scorer. While his most efficient season was 2008 in Denver, he declined SIGNIFICANTLY in every year since then. And this is besides the obvious locker room issues, which there is no evidence he has rectified besides pure conjecture. The truth is, Iverson is only good getting a lot of touches and a lot of shots, neither of which he'll be getting with the C's. He would play the same role as Nate Robinson, and wouldn't be much better ... in fact, statistically speaking, Nate Robinson was a more efficient scorer than Allen Iverson in 2009 and 2010, and over his career has a similar TS%. So basically you are just getting an older Nate Robinson. Great signing.

i saw Nate Robinson waiting in line at the movie theater next to my place in Bellevue, Washington late last night.  I imagine there isn't much of a market for 5'7" shooting guards these days.

Andrei Kirilenko a dream scenario. AK47 is one pickup who can put C's back in contention.

Personally, I wouldn't mind giving AI a shot.  I mean, really, what risk is there?
Waste of roster space and of time trying to integrate him into the team? The latter, especially, is of short supply this season.

Just say no.

Waste of a roster space?  Seriously?  Somehow I don't think keeping the roster space for guys like Gilbert Brown is helping us any.

As far as fitting in with the team, it's not like he would be much further behind than any of our other FA aquisitions this off-season, or any other mid year aquisition for that matter.

Just run him out there to spell Ray, and let him do his thing.  Where else are we going to get bench scoring?  I don't see much on the roster as it is currently.

He's not coming here, but it wouldn't be the risk some people try to make it out to be.
Scoring? You surely jest. Allen Iverson hasn't given anyone reliable source of scoring since 2008.

That has never stopped peeps here.   They seem to think that playing for the C's is a fountain of youth.  It was for Bill Walton, it was not for Shaq or Dominique.  I am guessing AI would be in that latter pool.
