This is one reason I hate message boards (luckily there are more reasons I like them than not)...

this guy could have serious health problems and all some can think about is, when it comes down to it, insignificant things!

Hope you are fine Jeff... basketball be [dang]ed!

TP.  It sucks if Green can't play for us but there are more important things than basketball at stake.  Hope it works out for both the Celtics and Green, but above all I hope he gets whatever help he needs to stay well.

Man that really does blow for Jeff Green, i really do hope it isnt a life threatning thing and that he is able to play basketball again at some point.
"Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It`s being able to take it as well as dish it out. That`s the only way you`re going to get respect from the players"

I can agree with this to a certain degree... BUT:

Jeff is an employee of the Celtics (and our thoughts and prayers are with him, and we wish him nothing but the best with regard to his health).  With that comes the idea that this franchise has decisions to make regarding player personnel, and those decisions can't be denied due to emotions attached to a player.  It's not being cold...it's being realistic.

We hope Jeff can play for us because his contract can't be used otherwise (to sign a new contract)...it only saves the C's tax money.  So it's in the best interest of the Celtics that he CAN play with good health.

I don't think it's callous to look at this from two perspectives: his health and the Celtics roster management (with the first being top priority).

I guess the thing we can hope for is that the C's are just being overly concerned after Reggie Lewis and that this might be a relatively smaller deal.

The worst part about this is of course the potential health concerns with jeff but i can't help but also feel that if jeff ends up missing all of camp again he'll already have a ready made excuse for not playing effectively in our system once again.

Remember, first and foremost i'm hoping for his sake he's ok, but secondly i also really want this to be over with so he can get his butt on the court and stop watching from the sidelines so he's not put at a disadvantage from jump like last year.

My bet would be he tested positive to some sort of narcotic or performance enhancing drug.

It's taking so long because theyve had to retest the initial sample to make sure and it's shrouded in red tape and secrecy because Danny only wants to make it public at the right time.

I really doubt that is the case.  If it was, it wouldn't be the team holding him out.  It would be the league, and there wouldn't be this limbo.

The league has a pretty efficient system for this stuff, and they wouldn't hold a player out of practices while they are retesting.

Surely the league wouldn't get involved if it was just coke or amphetamines.....

That Perk trade is looking even worse now....
A blow-up scenario is looking more and more likely now.

Please no more talk about blowups...hopefully if Jeff Green is cleared to play, he's really cleared to play. I don't want to see another Reggie Lewis issue happen ever again. If he can't play...give him a job in the organization. But health is the #1 concern here.

I don't think it's anything bad as in some major health complication or something that'll keep him out of the game. For what it's worth he's on Twitter posting just recently retweets that he is "Boston's future" and agreeing in a reply to how great it'll be seeing "him and Rondo on the floor together".

If there is something to keep him out all year or a serious health condition he was informed of, I doubt he tweets on any of this stuff or even has his mind on basketball.

Since the 2008 championship, the Celtics have had nothing but bad luck. :'(

bad luck, yes, along with bad personnel decisions.

I don't think it's half as bad as some people may think... Left to our own conspiracy theories, all of Celticsblog has this kid ready to retire, lol. Let's all calm down and see what's what tomorrow. Then we can all jump off the bridge.
