Today is the last day that teams can use their amnesty provision for this season (but they can use it next year if they haven't already).

I wonder if there will be any others.

From what I've read, it looks like Jefferson will survive and play at least one more season for the Spurs. If he doesn't improve, they can amnesty him in July 2012.

EDIT: Pat Riley just said they won't amnesty Mike Miller.

Just a guess, but I'd think Thabeet might be the only one left that this might happen to.

If Baron Davis manages to clear the waivers (6 PM), expect the Knicks to sign him.

More on Baron from a report in the New York Post.

Mind you, there are a growing number of skeptics that believe that the severity of his injury is being fabricated in an attempt to scare off would-be bidders. Sources tell me Davis hopes to end up with the Knicks, and if he does, he could be available to go within two weeks.

A healthy Baron Davis with Tyson, Melo, and Amare could be pretty productive in that system.

Small thing, but Ishmael Smith was acquired on waivers today by Golden State.  (Some believe he is the fastest player in the NBA today - nice pickup for G.S.).

Haha, that's hilarious. Someone gave Jason Smith more than the minimum? And it's the spend-thrift New Orleans Hornets? A three year deal at that? Haha, wow.

That team's front office is a mess. Talk about not being on the same page.

Haha....I fully expected Dumars to cave in and give him that contract.
