This FA period id going to be the bomb!!! Especially if a lot of players are released with the Amnesty Rule. A two week FA period followed by a three week Training Camp before real game are played will literally be chaos.
I KNOW RIGHT!!!?! :D

Haha, oh, and mind the language please :p

But yeah, that's going to be a hell of a month, and then a roller-coaster of a season. Nuts.

                   my hopes up

Me either, Bass ... if it happens I will be more excited than anyone, but I've learned to not count on anything until it happens ... you just set yourself up for more disappointment than life brings anyway, (though my fingers are constantly crossed). ;)

Shocker:  the two sides are still hung up on BRI.

Quote
Alan Hahn: Don't want to ruin the party, but I'm hearing things may be on the verge of blowing up again. BRI is extremely sensitive topic.

Quote
Chris Broussard: Talks btwn the players & owners just ended. Split of BRI is still the issue. Neither side budging. Players still at 52, owners at 50.

Interesting conflicting reports right now.

Quote
Sam Amico: Source with direct knowledge of NBA talks: Union wants 52 pct of BRI, owners willing to give 50. Expect them to meet at 51. "Soon." 1 minute ago

Quote
Howard Beck: Confirmed: talks done for today. Have hit a roadblock. Waiting for word from league/union. 2 minutes ago

Quote
Brian Windhorst: League source said talks broke when players wouldn't accept less than 52% of BRI. No talks scheduled. More cancellations today.

No deadline today means this was bound to happen.  We'll see what happens on Sunday.

Getting the feeling that those "missed games" are meaningless, as it seems as if sides want an 82 game season.

The only problem with the cancelled games is that arena owners start to fill their venue with other gigs on those dates.  That makes things tricky in terms of scheduling.

Ya, but you could extend things out. You could argue there's enough motivation too, even though you'd be going further in the summer you'd be minimalizing the amount of time you go against the NFL

Not that I think this is playing part in the labor talks but:

I wonder how many of these players would take a cut in their salary if it meant a reduction in the schedule to something like 70 games.

I'm sure that sounds silly at first, but apply it to real life:

If you made plenty of money, and had no concerns about paying the essentials and then some, would you take a pay cut to only have to work 4 days instead of 5? I'd certainly consider it.
