Is it really?  Everyone knows what a dance floor is.  IP is just trying to act clever.

If the bar clears space to allow people to dance, it's promoting dancing.  I think Edgar's pick precludes that (or at least, Rondo2287 ruled that way.)

Here's my problem with the pick - it's just too vague.

I think we're being overtly generous as is. He's selecting a DJ, and you're arguing Roy that he should get the exclusive rights to literally everything that relates to a 'dance scene.' Even down to dancing. Which really makes it about 300 picks not one.

Not really.  Edgar's bar activity is dancing, and everything that goes with that.  Champ's is TV + all cable rights + pay per view (i.e., all the parts that make up a full TV experience).  I don't see them being any different at all.

Given how many posts have been uh... posted... on this topic, I'm going to choose "arguing about meaningless, fictional things to the point where it starts to turn others off" as my activity.

then you'll HAVE to come to my bar... and I'll shoot myself  :P

And StarOrien, I have a circus with 70000 acts, and thats just being good picking not generalizing.

But in this case you're saying, I'll take the circus and the entertainment that comes along with it.

You're not requesting to have a circus, exclusive rights to seating, and lighting.

I requested to have THE BEST insert profanity circus in the world.
Without animal cruelty
and over 7000acts from all over the world to show in my pub
thats totally fair
considerin pearl jam has like 300 songs.

This is going to sound way more dramatic than I want -

But the pick of 'dancing' just goes against everything this draft is about, and really is just a way of exploiting an inaugural draft with categories that are inherently vague.

Ok, is Edgar's bar activty dancing or is his entertainment a DJ?  You can't really roll both into a single pick, can you?

His activity is dancing, complete with a live DJ.

That's one activity.  Clubs and bars all over the world promote this as their activity.  "Live DJ Dancing".  It's a bar activity, that we've all seen promoted in every city in the country.  That's what Edgar is selecting.

Ok, I see a DJ as more entertainment but then again, it's just a game of make believe we are playing so I'm fine with it.

I think this officially just got a little too complicated.

Edgar took a DJ, does that mean Paul Oakenfold is off the list? We can't dance to a DJ, but can we do the Humpty Hump, Do The Humpty Hump, if we choose Digital Underground?

If we host a wedding, can we do the chicken dance, as long as we stay near our seats?

Its simple, Edgar's bar has a dedicated space that's a 24 hour rave, where women sweat sensuously and drink long island iced teas, and men clumsily try to keep up without looking too happy to be there.

Kinda like this:

Coming late to the party.

Re: Edgar's pick, he's not really picking "dancing", he's picking "(night)clubbing" as his activity, isn't he?

Also, a live DJ is an individual, and has a professional name/persona (otherwise, why do clubs advertise which DJ is playing on any given night?), so I see it as two separate picks.

My two cents.
