Let's put everything on hold for a second, I'm going to sort this dancing thing out with Rondo.

Btw IP, I absolutely loooooove the Black Keys pick.

They were one of the bands that I was definitely considering.

"Howlin' for You" live?  Game over, man.

Yea it is a great pick, I was looking at them too.  I'm jelly.

EDIT: Also, if we do this again, I vote everyone starts out with a 'partially furnished' bar, including, TV's (if wanted), speed-rack capable of mixing cheap booze with soda, (like everybar everywhere has), bathrooms, stools, etc..

Basically you get a basic bar, that you color by number.

Yeah, I think next year, it might even make sense to concede that everyone has certain bar stables, like generic vodka, whiskey, etc.  If you want the good stuff, you have to select it.  If the goal is some degree of realism, I think that's the way to go.

I agree but it's been fun regardless...

Honestly, when I selected Whiskey, I was mostly doing it so I could have good scotch and good Irish Whiskey. It was my fall-back from Guinness. If anyone wants to use speed-rack whiskey to make their whiskey sours or Jack and Coke's (but you know..with garbage), that's fine by me.

I just want the mid to high-end stuff to serve straight up or with water.

Here's the ruling on Edgar's Pick:

If he'd like to keep the pick Edgar is allowed to have as his activity - a Live DJ room. This means he's the only one that would have a Live DJ and the things that generally come with a DJ (strobe lights, etc.)

He will not get the rights to 'dancing.' It's immaterial, unenforceable, and I think it could potentially take this draft in a direction I don't want to see it go.

I've got a few nicer ones lined up, but every bar needs a cheap staple beer for the drink specials and the non-beer connoisseur types.

With that in mind, The Cause & Cure select:

Pabst Blue Ribbon

Is he the only one allowed to have an allocated dance floor, as well?  I get the position "we can't stop people from dancing" (although that's not really true).  However, bars don't all have to *encourage* their patrons to dance, and as such, Edgar should be the only bar owner with a dedicated dance floor of any nature.

I think that that is the correct ruling.  Though I was just about to crush the draft by selecting "listening to music" as my activity!

Yes he is the only one with a dedicated dance floor.  Although I don't think keeping people from dancing when we all have live music acts is realistic.

Alright, fair enough.  I think that's what he was going for in the first place.

Well, between a dance floor and Cirque de freakin Soleil, I think we have an early runaway for "Biggest Bar".

Yes. Room 112 is screwed. The Roots and Prince are gonna think playing that bar is gonna be like playing high school auditorium, because everyone will remain standing.

I will not have a dance floor, but i will have a hardwood 20x20 space below the spot where the band plays that is separate from my tables and chairs and bar, that will be the 'activity space', where people can do whatever they darn well please.
