Originally I hated the idea of Rondo and Kobe, but now that I think about it, if you can somehow keep the ball in Rondo's hands without Kobe switching to baseball or dislocating Rondo's shoulder, it might work.

Kobe's efficiency has really gone down the toilet because he thinks he's still 25 and wants the ball in his hands all the time.  If you could force him to play off the ball beside a good primary ball-handler like Rondo, it would probably do wonders for his game.

Of course the chances of him being willing to do that are beyond low.

this is exactly what i am saying, kobe is 33 he can't do the same things he did when hes 25, he can't drop 81 points again...like i said in my presser i envision rondo calling out plays and dalembert and thomas setting screens for kobe to get open and knock down shots...similar to how ray gets his shots...also rondo can inniate a isolation for kobe allowing him to post up and do work there too...kinda like how pierce gets his one on ones...kobe could be ray and pierce in one.
Ray Allen runs around screens and then shoots off the catch.  Kobe is going to get the pass from Rondo, and then do his own thing, just like he's done with Fisher.

The key is you need to somehow get him to buy in.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Bogut / Al Jeff
Amare / KG
Delfino / Pierce
Harden / Butler
Lowry / Diddy

I am starting to reconsider. To me, it comes down to who provides a more significant point differential: Amare on KG vs. Pierce on Delfino. I think w/ limited help from Al Jefferson the edge might slightly go to the Blazers.

But I'm sure I'll change my mind another five hundred times

1) 35 year old, edge of retirement Kevin Garnett to play 30 minutes a game at a high level.

2) 34 year old Paul Pierce

Why don't you ease up on OUR guys, pal!

Do you really think these guys can't perform at the same levels they did this past season this upcoming one?

I certainly do with how well they take care of themselves and how intelligent they are.

Pierce has shown no sign of falling off and kg just had his second best year as a celtic.

This doesn't worry me at all!

Go Celtics!

Do you really a reason to think that they will?  Once guys hit 35, any year can be their last.  And honestly Ray Allen has been aging the best out of the big 3.

I worry a lot about Pierce and Gartnett and Allen going forward. Look at how superior athleticism defined the Playoffs for the Cs. Garnett, Particulary against athletic 4s with good footwork struggled he struggled a lot. Pierce looks to be slowing down as well, and iirc his shooting dropped a bit this past year.

I'm not saying they're liabilities or anything, but superstar talent?

Lol yeah man. Their play from last year maybe? The coaches thought they were all stars. Pierce played like eighty games and was as efficientbas ever. Kg was second in DPOY voting. The trade is why we played bad as was the rondo injury. It wasn't bc the big three played bad. They have AT LEAST one more year in them.

I'll ask you this. What does your gut tell you? If you had to give an honest answer... do you really think kg and pierce fall off this year?

Denver:

1)Is it worth the offense gained to start Calderon and Wright  when defensively both Bosh and Nene are going to have to keep their head on swivel to keep guys outta the paint?

2) Both Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson are historically poor leaders, versatile weapons, two-way threats, and good-but-not-great players. How does combining them together equal profit?

I've been thinking about switching things up to even out a balanced attack.  Being as all these teams are brand new lineups and meshing things out might take a few weeks.  I'm definitely not against starting Mbah a Moute and Hill over Wright and Calderon.  THere is definitely plenty of offense between JJ/Bosh/Nene.  While Wright may be happier getting his shots off the bench when JJ isn't in the game.

I don't think JJ is a poor leader, I think how the Hawks came together to beat Orlando this year shows JJ can help lead a team.  While JJ and Bosh aren't the best #1's I think them being together certainly helps (plus what would you expect me to do with the last pick).

My preliminary conference ranks:

2.  Portland
4.  Utah
5.  Denver
10.  OKC

As always, feel free to tell me why I'm wrong and have horribly underrated your squad.  I already moved some teams around based upon yesterday's arguments, and I'm willing to do the same again.

Well I think a lot of people are underestimating Denver and I'm surprised to see some people seeing us as 3rd or 4th in the division.

JJ, Bosh and Nene are one of the best trios in the CBNBA.  The team is very balanced.  There is no lack of offense. There are plenty of capable defenders, and good spot up shooters.

Can I ask what people think the faults of Denver are that put them behind other teams in the division?

I think all four teams in this division make the playoffs.

I think as a unit they only have this upcoming year. As far as individuals I think kg has two years at least and no more then three. I think pierce has three. Again as individuals I think they have more then a year in them to be very good starters on contenders. As far as being "the guys" on the celtics I see one more year. But in this league where no two super stars are playing together i think they have more then enough to getba ring.

Question for OKC:

Rondo just admitted that the Perkins trade affected him more than it should. Do you foresee him being affected by the way Kobe treats his teammates when the going's not good.

no, rondo lost his best friend and had never gone through an experience like that before, he's over it.
