S.F.  Wilson Chandler John Salmons Ryan Gomes
S.G.  Monta Ellis   Tracy McGrady
P.G.  Tyreeke Evans  Juan Jose Barea

love it or hate it
i think it works

That backcourt would be a coach's nightmare, and your front court would be awful defensively.

Not to mention you only have two guys on the roster who I'd want to rely on for 3's on a consistent basis (AK47, T-Mac, and Jamison can shoot from deep but not that well).

so you hate it

i think you did it since deron so i am thinking
that has not much to do with my team
how many 3s you need
are you the orlando magic or in my division
lol

p.s, Shaq is probably the best man in the world to handle those kind of things

Collison, brown bad deffensively
lol
thats probably the only thing they can do right

I'm not in your division; this is an outsider perspective.

You need shooting to space the floor, and honestly I don't see it with your team.  I'm also not seeing how your team would defend well against most typical lineups.

I think you need a real point guard to run the show and a real center to anchor your frontcourt.  I don't see how Monta and Tyreke could really work on the same team.  I'd suggest trading one of them.

As I see it based on the rosters set on the team list at 7:40 am

Marcus Thorton can be the backup PG. He's not that bad at that position.
Yes he is, he's a one dimensional SG, not a PG.

Start Orien won last year while arguing Hedo would handle the ball from the SF spot whenever Baron wasn't on the floor. Rudy was utilized as a scoring PG.

Getting Chalmers was a big plus.

But he won't run the offense when he's in. He'll stretch the floor with his 3 shots (although he shoots 35%). Like someone suggested (i forgot I think it's Who), I'll have T-Will run the offense. Dude has handles, can slash and can pass good (didn't even know until i watched youtube highlights).
I think you're missing a big part of Who's argument. He's made the case for Terrence Williams at the PG position because played their he has a size and athletic advantage.

If you're playing Chalmers you're really not playing him at PG, as other teams will guard Chalmers with their PG and use their SG or SF (depending on the team) on Terrence Williams.

T-Will has good enough handles and quickness to get pass opposing 2 or 3's (especially the 2nd unit). He's a willing passer and the good thing is he's athletic enough to just slash his way to the basket and finish strong as well.

Chalmers will stretch the floor T-Will to give him room to work. He'll also be there for defense while giving Rajon a breather

This trade was a huge win for you in terms of value.  Now you just need to move some pieces around for better fits without losing value in the process and you're team will be very much improved.

I would very much like this team if they had a better SF and not a frontcourt of West and Horford.  Too redundant.  I'm not and never have been sold on Horford as a true center.  I think he would be around the 6th-8th best PF in this league though (which is a position stacked with strong talent).  I'd like to see you trade West for a legit center and maybe pick up a starting SF somehow.  Then, I will probably love this team.

Our team is not without flaws... but West and Horford redundant? Horford not a legit center??

West is a jump shooting PF (72% of his shots were jump shots) while Horford takes nearly 1/2 his shots inside the paint. This is the exact reason I took West b/c offensively he complemented Horford's game.

Your wording was a little fishy there, but courtesy of 82games.com:  74% of West's fga were jumpshots and 67% of Horford's were jumpshots.  Pretty close.  And while I do think Horford has shown to be a better rebounder, I'd be weary to consider stats impartial.  West, at PF, has to defend opponents further from the hoop and also has a much better rebounding teammate in the frontcourt than Horford does.  I still think they are pretty similar players.

While Horford is a more effective player against C's than PF's (23 PER/48 vs. 19 PER/48), he also gives up more production against centers than he does to PFs (17 PER/48 vs. 13 PER/48).  That is VERY telling IMO.  He gives up more production to centers than he does to PFs???  Center is a wayyyy weaker position in the NBA than PF!  Also, while playing almost twice as minutes at C as he did at PF, he still managed a +/- of +35 on the season at PF, while only a +11 on the season at C.  This tells me that he is a much better fit at PF.

--------------------------------------------------------------

easy to say we might be the Hornets, but Horford >>> Okafor

Horford 15/9/3 + 1 blk +.8 stl
Okafor 10/9/.6 + 2 blk +.6 stl

Okafor is a slightly better defender, but is one dimensional & very inefficient offensively. Horford on the other had averages more assists than any other other big behind Blake Griffin and is among the most efficient big men in the League.

I'm not arguing with you that Horford >>> Okafor overall; that is true.  I said you'd risk looking like the Hornets if you traded one of Horford/West for a true center and didn't get back a player unquestionably better than Okafor.

My problem is I don't think Horford is a true center.  So at the center position, I think it becomes now more like Horford > Okafor.  The reason why is because Horford has a PER/48 advantage of 5.7 against centers, and Okafor has a PER/48 advantage of 2.9 against centers.  Not a ridiculous difference.

GC, after all that talk about liking West and Horford, you go and make that trade?!?!

As I'm sure you guess from my analysis, I love the trade for you.  Absolutely love it.

Wait, you're in the East.  I hate this trade.

I think you should start Al Jefferson at the 4 and Pau at the 5.  You have a ton of offense on your bench and not enough in the starting lineup.  A team with a good wing and post defender (like Sacramento) would annihilate your current starting lineup.  If you start Jefferson, then teams would need two very good frontcourt defenders.  Then you still have tons of offense off the bench.
