As for the other trade, is a JO who will miss 40+ games more valuable than having Andray Blatche in your lineup?  I'd say probably yes.

Finally, a little positive thing for Dray.

I think Roy is saying 42 games of JO is more valuable than a season of blatche

I think you misread my garbled sentence (and understandably so).  I'd rather have JO, even though he's going to miss at least half the season.  Blatche is that big of a negative on a team, in my opinion (and this is coming from somebody who drafted Blatche in the Pick 2 draft a couple years ago, before I saw what a deadbeat he was).

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Trade:

Magic trade Jared Dudley
Blazers trade Corey Maggette

I don't like this for the Blazers.  Why?  Because they once again don't have a true SF.  Say what you want about Corey Maggette, but he's athletic, he gets to the line, and he's extraordinarily efficient.  Jared Dudley, while a very nice role player (and one of my binkies), isn't nearly the impact player that Maggette can be.

This means that the Blazers have to put a 3/4 back into their starting lineup, rather than a true 3.  I don't like it.  I guess trades have to be made to appeal to those doing the voting, but from a basketball standpoint (rather than a reputation one) this makes very little sense to me.

I couldn't figure out a way to justify both Maggette and TA (neither being good 3pt shooters) on the wing. Dudley played the vast majority of his minutes in Phoenix on the Wing, and not in that kind of 'he's a 3 but we're going to play him like a 4' kind of way. He defended 3's and sometimes 2's, he hovered around the 3pt line, and played as a wing. I like him there for me.

Agreed the Blazers lost out on a ton of talent here. I loved Maggette and Amare. Opposing teams forwards would be in foul trouble a lot. I was worried about that combo getting Pierce and Gasol in trouble. Now Utah is very very happy!!!!!

Nice pick, Bahku.

He's facing a minutes crunch in Sacto this year (again), but I have a soft spot for JT.

Nice pick, I almost picked him instead of Ed Davis last round.

Just bring TA off the bench like in 2010. He had a great run as the backup wing for Pierce.

unbelievable that he went after some other PGs this round... would have taken him with 9.4 even though i didnd't really need him just b/c he was too good to pass over.

I like the Bulls side of the deal too in the Big Al/JRich deal

Thanks, Kwhit & Lucky ... and congrats, Jgod, I'm surprised DJ went this late - would've considered him if I didn't have PG's already. (TPs)
