Excellent decision, Portland.

That combination (TA, Maggette, D.Williams, Amare) of players was doing my head in. I couldn't see that working.

Jared Dudley is a beautiful little glue guy who won't get in anybody's way.

I don't like this for the Blazers.  Why?  Because they once again don't have a true SF.  Say what you want about Corey Maggette, but he's athletic, he gets to the line, and he's extraordinarily efficient.  Jared Dudley, while a very nice role player (and one of my binkies), isn't nearly the impact player that Maggette can be.

This means that the Blazers have to put a 3/4 back into their starting lineup, rather than a true 3.  I don't like it.  I guess trades have to be made to appeal to those doing the voting, but from a basketball standpoint (rather than a reputation one) this makes very little sense to me.

As for the other trade, is a JO who will miss 40+ games more valuable than having Andray Blatche in your lineup?  I'd say probably yes.

Finally, a little positive thing for Dray.
