I guess if Kobe isn't in the triangle Nash could run the show and prevent Kobe from going into "black hole" mode (optimistic but not that likely). That or Kobe will make sure to bring the ball up and shoot it as he sees fit, wasting Nash's talents by having him stand in the corner (my guess).

I see Kobe playing like he did for Team USA

And Nash doing like he did for Dallas

kobe likes to get his teamates involved more than he use to.  how many teams have we seen him dish off to ron artest chuckin brick threes..nash will make threes..kobe draws double teams so nash will get wide open looks
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

I think Kobe's gotten worse at this after a brief 'good/betteer kobe' couple of years.

I think either Kobe or Nash will have to take a smaller role that diminishes their value to play together.

Likely, that will be Nash.

A lesser offensive Nash, who has no defense...

Yeah, I agree with those who think great talent value for the pick, not a great talent match.

Nash needs the ball in his hands to use his elite vision and tempo skills.

Kobe needs the ball in his hands to size up a defense and drive/dish.

Wade/'Bron figured it out in south beach.  Maybe it's not impossible.

the Thunder select Steve Nash

Kobe and Nash huh? Hm.
I can't say I'm a fan of this. Nash is only a high impact player when he has the ball to create, Kobe has never accepted not having the ball.

if lebron and wade can share a ball im pretty sure nash and kobe can
They didn't share the ball all that well and they had serious diminishing returns.

Plus both of those players bring a lot of value without the ball by being plus defenders. Nash doesn't do that.

kobe has made all defensive 1st team last year over wade and was all defense 9 times in his career..Nash is not a great defender but is arguably the best shooter and passer in the league. I don't think you need a team of 5 elite defenders.

They really didn't, not yet.

They took turns being "the man" and both turned in lesser seasons than they did as individuals.

They got to the Finals on overwhelming talent, I mean they were the number 2 and 4 picks in this very draft (with the 25th as their third wheel)

Just like Derek Jeter is an awesome shortstop because he won a gold glove last year.....

Wade is a much better defender than Kobe, especially when it comes to help defense. He's been better for the last 5 years.

Kobe is still a very good defender though, just not in Wade's class. Similar to Paul Pierce at this stage of his career, very good defender. He'll have to guard a lot of the athletic PGs for Nash I imagine.

Both can play top level defense.  The better player is the better PG (Lebron)

And, despite the talent, they lost in the Finals.

If Nash was a good defender, then this move makes more sense.
