I love Kevin Love as a player, but I don't know how I feel about him as a first round pick.

Really? He shoots FGs at .470, the tres at .417, FTs at .850, 20.2 PPG, 15.2 RBPG, 2.5 APG, and low turnover rate at around 2.1 ... I don't see any bigs left with that kind of dominance.

I think he's a solid pick, but I don't know how dominant he is. His rebounding is a bit inflated because nobody else is rebounding around him (not that he still wouldn't get 11 or 12 a game), and his defense leaves a lot to be desired.

I see quite a few defensive liabilities already picked in the first round, if that's what we're going on here. Seems to me that most people have opted for offeensive strength in the first round, (with a couple of exceptions), so why is Love held to a different standard? I wanted a big man and offense with my first pick ... Kevin fit the bill perfectly.

Just checking in after court.  My favorite pick of the first round:  Blake Griffin.  I know he's largely unproven, but next year this kid is going to be a top-five pick.

But do you love him next to Kevin Garnett?? (I always find a way to disappoint Roy.  ;))

Ditto.

Anyone moving an upcoming pick? I'm interested in using 2nd and 3rd rounders to get another 1st, plus additional considerations.

Horford, Noah, Love, Z-Bo, Aldridge...is this a run on bigs here?
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I haven't read the thread.  Somebody is putting Griffin next to KG?  I hope not; I don't like either as a full-time center.

I like that Tim Duncan pick.  Nice job, KC.

EDIT:  Wait, you did that WW?  I wouldn't have guessed that.  I understand the argument -- KG is more skilled than most centers, and he'll spread the floor -- but I think he's going to struggle against a lot of centers.  Pau Gasol gives 2011 KG fits; I can't imagine him consistently guarding ________, Howard, etc.

What if they're part time centers at the same time?

Given what's left of big guys who can rebound...Love is a solid pick here

Yeah. Love has his limitations/flaws, but anyone who boards like that would have a place on my team.
Nobody is saying that he's a bad player to have on your team.

But when you put up huge stats that say you're the next KG according to PER and WP/48 then your team should be winning more than 17 games.

I'm pretty confident Bahku will do better than Kahn at building around Love.

Thanks, Lucky ... I wasn't looking for defense with my first pick, and neither were many others. How a player performs at certain positions depends greatly on who his team-mates are ... I have a few plans for how to build around him, and anyone we match up against will have trouble dealing with Love's dominant offense.
