Haywood is a very good pick.

I need to move Jennings for a defensive minded wing, but has your stance changed at all with the additions of Young, Crawford, and Haywood? Or do you still see me as last in the Northwest and missing the playoffs?

Thanks for your thoughts?

Let's wait until the dust settles on the 7th round, so I can see what the rest of your division did as well.  Short answer:  I like the addition of Crawford and Haywood, and don't care much for the Nick Young pick.  He's very talented, but doesn't have his head where it should be.

I think being in the right locker room could change things for Young. Washington was a very dysfunctional place. Still fair enough and to each his own. Appreciate the comments. TP

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Seriously, is there any good reason not to have a veto?  Suspending it was the only rule from the Commish that I've disagreed with.  Reinsituting it is necessary to keep competitive balance.

Proving Roy Hobbs right....I'd rather go hunting with Dick Chaney.

I thought you were in great shape entering this round today. I had you pegged second in your division and very likely to be a title contender.

Not too sure about the direction the squad has taken since though. Need to re-evaluate. You are probably still on track to be a title contender but not the direction (B.Haywood, N.Young) I was hoping to see you take.

With the 24th pick in the 2011 CB draft

The Denver Nuggets select Jose Calderon.
Excellent value pick but wasted in the Triangle

I don't think he's wasted at all.  He is a good outside shoot and has a good ball handle with minimal turnovers.

I had Calderon on my list as a backup. His is a great passer n ok shooter but yes no defense. But for a late 6th rounder. Not bad
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I trust IP (as with all commishes in the past) I just thought if IP wanted to explain why it might meet with less contention... though I also understand his not wanting to publicly call out certain GMs.

I'm down with reinstituting it.

Reminder for everyone to throw some TPs IP's way!!!

Without naming names, I think some bad trades have come across IP's desk, that he didn't feel comfortable rubber-stamping.  After the Rudy Gay trade, my guess is that future lopsided trades left that much more of a bitter taste in his mouth.

I think I say this every year when somebody takes Phil Jackson, but I think Jackson is a good enough coach to adapt his system to his personnel.  If Calderon is his point guard, he'll make him work.
I don't think Phil would adapt to Calderon but I do agree with the point in general. Phil did a great job Shaq much to Tex Winter's disapproval.

I have pick 7.3 and like the list of folks there but if anyone would like to move up please send me a PM!

I also like how my team is coming together but will listen to offers on anyone (Horford is the least-touchable, but not untouchable).

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
I don't have a pick until 7-20. Anyone want to talk trades? Here's my roster:

PG - Lawson/Davis
SG - S. Jackson
SF - Batum
PF - Nowitzki
C - D. Jordan, Camby

Let me know if you're interested, I might take a while to respond, but I'll get back to you eventually.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Haha.  I'm just a big believer in Hobbes, IP (imagine that).  Without rules and structure, the CelticsBlog Draft devolves into a state of nature, where life as a GM is nasty, brutish, and short.

Go, authoritarianism! (Says the captain of the CB Leviathan).
