The Phoenix Suns select (7.7) Omer Asik.
Great pick, he had a great defensive rookie season.

I wouldn't go so far as "great pick", if only because of Asik's overall lack of productivity.  I think he's got limited upside, and 3 points and 4 rebounds probably would have lasted another round or two, if I had to guess.

EDIT:  Or not, if jgod's reaction means anything.  I'm surprised there's so much interest in him.

After a quick google search to make sure he was still alive and that people hadn't skipped over him because he was dead, the Celtics select, Rodney Stuckey

Aw nuts.

Hey, you're the one who was all , " This team needs a good combo guard".  ;D

So the 10th pick of this years draft goes in the 7th round, and the 11th pick is a 4th round pick?

Bahku's team will definitely be able to shoot.  J.J. Redick desperately belongs on that team.

But we can all agree that the commissioner is going to love this pick.

HE's a pretty good pick if you want to shore up your defense in preparation for Bynum's inevitable injury.

Rubio is a very intriguing pick.  I've always looked at the 7th round as the one to start taking gambles, so it works for me.

roy did you announce the deal for Rubio?
both teams have confirmed i believe

His limited productivity is due to 12 minutes per game.

I think he can easily up that to 20 and maintain his points and rebounds, all while playing stellar defense at the C spot. Well worth a 7th round pick.

I don't think so, Redick has progressed nicely defensively.

I really wanted him too.  Didn't think he'd go this early.  He's a good 10 min per game backup C and if you have a very good starting center already, that's what you're looking for.

With all this support from the bistanders its really a wonder that we didnt have people banging down the door to play this year.
