I want to start off by saying I love watching Rondo and I think he's a great fit for the Celtics.  However, what if OKC loses to Memphis this year and OKC decides they need more of a traditional PG to set up Durant, Harden, etc. and offers Westbrook for Rondo.  Would you make that trade?

Rondo is obviously a better passer/playmaker and defender, but Westbrook is bigger, more explosive and has more of an offensive game.  I think it's a tough call, but something to consider as the Big 3 get older and older.

Without even thinking twice. Rondo, while tough and gritty at times, is too one dimensional. You can always coach westbrook to distribute a bit more, but you'll never teach rondo to shoot.

The only PG's I would want instead of Rondo are CP3, DWill, or Rose.

In that order.

I may be willing to part with Rondo for an inferior PG like Westbrook if we got more pieces that can help us.

It's hard to argue against Rondo.

Rondo is just such a bad shooter from just about anywhere on the court and is the worst free throw shooter ever (serisouly hes up there)

Maybe rondo would shoot more if he was decent at shooting but what is decent? We are begging him to be able to knock down a 15 footer and even that is kinda sad.

Everyone talks about with our team and the big 3 that he is just a distributor and doesn't need to worry about passing.

Maybe that was true the first couple years but everyone is talking about the big 3 getting older and getting less and less minutes. If he's passing to 3 or 4 ll-stars that's great but as these guys minutes go down and we see more of guys like, baby, Krstic, Wafer or whoever is on our team we need a star who can score and shoot. Not someone who is just going to be feeding lesser tier players the ball.

Rondo isn't not shooting by choice. He's not shooting because he can't shoot.

Westbrook had a 9 minute stretch in a playoff game where he didn't pass the ball to Durant. That will not work on this team. If you're talking about rebuilding for this team, maybe, but if you're talking about for the Big 3, then absolutely not.

Become Legendary.

I would argue that i would take these 3 before westbrook no doubt, but i disagree that overall westbrook is that inferior to rondo, if at all. 22 pts,8 assists, and 5 boards a game seems pretty complete to me!

Westbrook's the 2nd option, while Rondo is the 4th. And plus Wesbrook's black hole style of basketball infuriates me lol

Yes if you planning to make him a 2g and find another pass first pg.Even if he fit with the Big 3 for next season the dynamics of the team will change sooner than later to younger more athletic much similar to the situation Westbrook's already in.He would put the team in the situation OKC is in now, needing a pass first pg.If you plan to find a tranditional pg alone the way, then i would go for it to boost the big 3 offensively with the idea of placing Russell in his natural position in the future.

Overall?

Rondo is a better passer, rebounder, defender, and leader.

Westbrook is a better shooter.

If you think jumpshooting is that much more important than any other facet of the game, Westbrook is you man.

Rondo is probably the worst shooting PG in the league

Is Westbrook the worst at anything for a PG? He's not Steve Nash on defense and he's actually  a good rebounder and an above average defender.

Do we really need  pass first PG?

How many pass first PG's are there in the league?

With the Big 3 on the decline wouldn't it be nice to have a Westbrook who can carry the load more.

Why bother? Avery Bradley will be a Westbrook clone in a few years anyway.
Never stop believing baby~

I'm not sure why people continually describe a player who's the best or near the best out of all point guards in defense, passing, rebounding, finishing around the rim and running an offense as "one-dimensional". That's not how I generally use the term.

Fun game. But pointless.
