Not a chance. Westbrook is a bit selfish from what I've seen in the playoffs and wants the glory for himself. Don't want him. Heck of a talent though.

Yet we are happy with the guy that tanked it for the last two months of the season because he was ticked off that they traded away his buddy… Unselfishness at its finest!

I would trade Rondo for only CP3.

D. Williams and D. Rose are very good star players, but Rondo is more valuable to a team.

If you surrounded Rondo with Deng, Noah, Boozer, the best defense in the NBA, and shooters Bogans, Korver, with bench guys like CJ Miles and Taj Gibson.....Rondo would make everyone of those guys better.

Rose is getting a lot of recognition for being the "only offense" the Bulls have...which is not true.

The issue with Rose is he is far spectacular on offensive scoring than he is as a playing maker.

Rondo doesn't have to score a point and he can dominate the game.
Again that is exactly what Rose said about him. He doesn't have to score 20 0r 10 points, but when Rondo is on he can dominate a game. He would help OKC more than hurt them if he went there and could help them win.

But when shots aren't falling for others, can Rondo take on the scoring burden?

He's done it in stints, but never consistently.

Yes, we saw what a selfish player he was in the Miami series. I guess if you ignore any and all reports that Rondo was injured during that time and ignore that he played fine for a while after the Perk trade that theory makes sense.

No way for Westbrook....point guards who like to shoot first (even when Kevin Durant is coming off a Perk screen for an open look), aren't worth what Rondo brings....no deal.

I've seen others state this before me, but yeah:

Westbrook is the opposite of Rondo. I've never seen a dumber point guard play in the playoffs. Must be my lack of NBA, but yeah. What I saw of him in a few of those Grizzly games... he - LOST - them the game by not passing enough and taking too many shots.

If that doesn't sound like your anti-Rondo then I don't know what does.

Pass.

Haha exactly. The love that other Cetlics fans have for Rondo still amazes me. The only reason why you'll never see Westbrook in Boston is because OKC would never trade him for Rondo.

And for the record, what on earth is wrong with a point guard that can shoot and likes to shoot? God forbid our team scores more points than they already do.

The only thing that amazes me about other Celtics fans is that they actually think Rondo purposely played horrible for the last two months of the season because his "buddy" got traded away. We're talking about the same guy that played with a dislocated elbow (among other injuries), right?

It bothers some people (obviously not you) that he's the least efficient scorer of OKC's top 5 scorers but he takes the most shots. Oh, and some people (again, not you) would be less than thrilled with a pg that gives you 6.4 assists and 4.5 turnovers. Shocking, I know, but having an inefficient shooter take the bulk of our shots would probably lead to our team scoring *less* points than they already do.

You do know that he and the team denied that right. This is the same guy that came back and played and still played in the playoffs with an injured elbow. He could have just not come back and not play at all not only that game, but in the playoffs. He could have been like many players and just not play and collect his cash. If that's selfish to you then I don't know what selfish is. Also the fact that people even believe that he played poorly because his friend left must not believe Rondo is that mentally and emotionally tough.

It's very apparent that some people have not seen Westbrook play, they just look at stats. But as BballTim has pointed out, if you look closely at his stats, you'll see plenty of flaws in his game.

IF they offer Westbrook for Rondo, I will go for it. I think Danny will cross the bridge once he gets the offer.

It's a tough decision for most fans to accept and management to make. But then we have to wait for that offer to come first.

Salaries don't match, so a deal would be something more like Westbrook, the return of Nate Robinson, and maybe a minimum salary guy for Rondo and a first round pick (perhaps the Clippers pick sent back).

It's a credit to Rondo's toughness that no one really talked about the plantar fascitis that Rondo struggled with all season long.

Rondo didn't talk about it, so the fans and the media didn't talk about it.  Anyone remember when the big, tough Kendrick Perkins had the same issue one season and could hardly play?

Honestly, if he'd injured his elbow in practice and not on tv people would have heard that he had a mild sprain and right now we'd be flooded with posts about how Rondo's soft and mentally weak and was dogging it because he was mad Perk got traded.

By the way, here's Danny on Rondo in the Herald today:

“I was in the back room when Rondo had the dislocated elbow, and he was in an amazing amount of pain,” general manager Danny Ainge said Friday. “He was trying to get back out on the court now. He didn’t want to ice it, he didn’t want the X-ray, he just said pop it back in, tape it up and let’s go.

“He was worried about the clock running down on the game, and he was in excruciating pain. It was amazing what he was able to accomplish. He loves to play. No one can question Rajon and his toughness, and his desire to play.”
