For a "ball hog," Westbrook sure does get a lot of assists.

He' taking (if you include fts) 24.3 shots a game to get 24.8 points, with 6.4 assists and 4.5 turnovers. Not very efficient by any measure.

In the playoffs he is averaging about 2 assists lower than he did in the reg season by playing selfishly. It has costs them a couple of game too.

Well, Rondo's assists totals in the post-season are almost as down as much from his regular season average. Surely we wouldn't say Rondo has been playing selfishly?

Westbrook is 22 years old, in his third season. He has room for improvement in that aspect of his game, and to think that he wouldn't is a pretty bold statement.

That said, in terms of contracts, I might prefer Rondo at this point. He locked up for the next five years at a reasonable rate. Westbrook will command a big contract in the near future.

I wonder why Rondo's assist totals would be down in the post season from the regular season. It's a complete mystery. (stares at left elbow, shakes head). It must be selfish play, you're probably right.

Allen Iverson averaged over 7 APG six different seasons, and he did it without a pure scorer like Durant to flip it to who can score from anywhere on the court.

If the Thunder lose tomorrow, I think it's because of Westbrook (don't expect another poor performance from KD) and that very well may lead to them shipping him out. They aren't playing around in OKC, they are ready to win NOW.

Rondo's assist number was affected by the injury. Prior to that he was averaging his season average. Westbook's was affected by not passing to his other teammates like he did in the reg season.

The only PG's I would want instead of Rondo are CP3, DWill, or Rose.

Lol what? There's no way I'd do this, and if Ainge were to ever consider it for more than a second he should be fired. Rondo is far better than Westbrook. Also, this whole talk of Westbrook leaving OKC is getting out of hand. He's still young and is still learning the pg position. Plus, him, Durant, and Harden are extremely close so I highly doubt they want to break that up unless Durant comes to the front office and tells them he wants Westy gone

Totally i agree, Allen Iverson averaged 7 asist and was not in Philly no stars, it has much merit for AI.
We have very little memory, now out comparisons between Rose and Westbrook with Allen Iverson, please Iverson is a future hall of fame and is unique and incomparable, he scored 60 points and was 13 asist, now I laugh Rose, CP3, West ....

I would trade Rondo, I think that without the Big Three Rondo is not the same, it is very easy to play with Allen, Pierce and Garnett.

Hell no Westbrook is a ballhog how u gonna take over 30 shots multiple times when u got the leading scorer in the NBA on ya team????
Bolded was my response looking at the title before I even read it. Again Heeelll no that would actually help the Thunder a bit. I mean imagine Durant getting his shots where he wants them and playing with a player that wouldn't mind doing it.
As much as people rag on Rondo he's a shooters dream point guard. Heck why would OJ Mayo say he would play with Rondo and gave his reason why. All he needs is to learn how to shoot well and consistently. Seems easy when you say or write it, but hopefully when he gets healthy he can put the work in to get better at shooting.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Westbrook is good, no doubt. But he's still a poor man's Derrick Rose, and he can't wrap his head around deferring to KD and being a #2. He plays too much hero ball for a PG, IMO. Derrick Rose plays hero ball, but it's cause he's the #1 scoring option on the floor at all times--Westbrook is not.

I would trade Rondo for only CP3.

D. Williams and D. Rose are very good star players, but Rondo is more valuable to a team.

If you surrounded Rondo with Deng, Noah, Boozer, the best defense in the NBA, and shooters Bogans, Korver, with bench guys like CJ Miles and Taj Gibson.....Rondo would make everyone of those guys better.

Rose is getting a lot of recognition for being the "only offense" the Bulls have...which is not true.

The issue with Rose is he is far spectacular on offensive scoring than he is as a playing maker.

Rondo doesn't have to score a point and he can dominate the game.

Again that is exactly what Rose said about him. He doesn't have to score 20 0r 10 points, but when Rondo is on he can dominate a game. He would help OKC more than hurt them if he went there and could help them win.

The Bulls wish they had CJ Miles.  I know, it's hard to keep the CJs straight, but the Bulls do have CJ Watson.

Not a chance. Westbrook is a bit selfish from what I've seen in the playoffs and wants the glory for himself. Don't want him. Heck of a talent though.
