Since it is nearing 4 and the round is almost over I'm going to pick my coach.

And perhaps the biggest no-brainer selection of any that will be made (until the next pick).

The Memphis Grizzlies select as their coach

Arnold Auerbach

BTW

About this pick

Say this to yourself

THis round for me its all about qualities
I understand the Position speech
but If i can pick the best 6th man in the draft here
I will.

And then fill with defense or any other

Too much talent in the jewel to miss

Question, if we draft a coach who used to be a player, does that mean that person can't be drafted?

I can't imagine that'd be the case.

My initial thoughts on Round 5.

What I liked:  Chris Paul & Robert Parish.  (I like the fits a lot.)

What I didn't like:  Reggie Miller, Dennis Rodman, Ben Wallace, and Allen Iverson.  (All too specialized to go this early)

What I'm still thinking over:  Bob Cousy (is he the right fit there?),  Steve Nash (see Bob Cousy), Sam Jones (toughest one to call, IMO.  Heckuva player but is he a starter in this thing?  I don't know),  Bob Lanier (warming up to the idea the more I think about it from a fit standpoint), Dikembe Mutombo (too one-dimensional?)

So Edgar - what "Jewel" did I let pass by, lol?

To keep the integrity of the draft, just PM me or something...if no one has ifgured it out yet, I'm drafting based on need vice BPA.

Are you up next? Cuz I got some idears for you squad if so.

No I picked Ben Wallace with the 9th. I already have a plan for my remaining picks and spots on my roster.

I was just curious at this list that I am guessing that you or the other panelists may have...no offense but I am guessing that the "Jewels" that I missed would not make any sense to me or my roster.

But - I am always open to surprises.

And IP - I know you and I (and a few others) had a discussion on GP earlier this week. I can see your point of view, even then, on his shortcomings. While I don't agree that his defiencies were that great to warrant 3 pages, I can at least meet you halfway.

And it is with that deficiency in my roster that I will make strides with whoever is left out there.

And I have a list of 4-5 players that will round out my roster and they will fit.

The BPA idea may mean I pass up a player that would not have fit on the roster - because maybe that player needed more touches or responsibility that was not needed with my team.

I suspect that next week I will probably get more low scores, but in my minds eye the players will fit.

Our stats may not jump out, but it will be a cohesive team.

The 3 words in red are the only ones to be concerned with.  Just enjoy the process of putting together a true Dream Team.

How do we pick coaches when a lot of them are players that haven't been picked yet?

Isn't that breaking the all-important don't mention players rule?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

No need for a PM.  All I'm saying is don't get so caught up in what everyone else thinks about your team.  If you like what you have, then you're all set!  (at least that's my approach)

Edgar/Redz/IP - disregard...I get it. Going off of very little sleep lately. :)

For those of you who may not know - I am in a similar situation as Bahku - except I completely tore my right Achilles playing the sport I love back on Apr 2nd.

My recovery has been rather slow, but steady. And I have been very immobile since Apr - moreso than I've ever been.

I've enjoyed the rest, but I am looking forward to running again.

He's saying just make a team you're happy with, because even if you pick a team full of talented players everyone agrees is awesome, if you're not happy with it, it won't be satisfying.

And I think that's a solid approach.
