I have similar feelings about Wallace as I did with Rodman.  It's just tough having such a limited player on offense.

I definitely prefer KG at PF; I wouldn't try to slide him to the three, especially against some of the great SFs in this league.  It negates his biggest strengths, and KG isn't the type of guy to exploit height mismatches by taking the ball to the post.

Really good rosters....hard to decide who has the best team.

Indiana, Portland and Miami look a little better than others at the moment.

To each his own, I guess.

Come on, can I seriously not pick George Mikan?

Is this an NBA draft or a 1960+ draft (in which case why can't you pick ABA years)?

Yeah, this was addressed before the draft; no Mikan, no Macauley, etc.

He would've been gone long ago.

And KG will play at PF, primarily.

But KG's versatility and athleticism, especially earlier in his career(03-04), would allow him to play at SF even vs the best SF's out there in limited stretches.

KG in fact did this in Minny.

I just didn't want Shaq wearing down Kareem in a 48 min affair...even Wilt was a physical monster to deal with and I wanted to give Kareem a bit of help.

Big Ben won't need many touches...he's a team player, a glue guy...just brings his lunch pail to work every day.

Yeah I figured that.  It's a shame though, he deserves a chance to play against some real centers.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

If Mikan could've been picked, he still shouldn't have been. 6'10, 245, barely mobile, no competition, and still despite being the only guy out there over 6'8, he still had only a 47% shooting success rate or something.

An important figure in NBA history for sure, but not one that would be very useful in this game.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

I do in fact have my eyes on a set of SF's that will fill out that need - but I just couldn't pass on Big Ben.

My primary choice at SF will come on Tuesday with my 5th pick.

I started getting concerned with WeMade17's pick of Dikembe and especially Nick's pick of Rodman - but Ben was my primary choice today.

Round 5:  where pretty much every pick besides Cous is early.

I think you're getting to the point where people need to start looking at fit. While I've disagreed with a pick or two, for the most part I think everyones been pretty spot on.

Give me Parish.

O-train
Glide
Doctor
Big E
Chief

Longest, fastest, highest jumping team.  Perfect combination of defense, rebounding, shot-blocking, and floor spacing by the bigs, and yet they'll have no problem running the break.

Unstoppable in transition, but I've still got 4 guys who can score in the half-court with their eyes closed, and Robert's no slouch either.

I'd say that Chief was the best center left on the board.  I can see an argument for maybe one other guy, but give me Parish.

With the 11th pick in the 5th round, the Boston Celtics select:

Allen Iverson

Was wondering where the Answer would go on my trip to Dunkin Donuts. I don't think he gets his due.

I like the Parish pick but some of the guys picke before him are leaving me scratching my head a bit.  Guys that I thought were reaches for this stage of the draft and a little too specialized when you can still grab some high quality more complete players.

I go back and forth with Iverson.

A lot of it comes down to the question I pose last night, of whether we consider these guys as transplanted into this new league via time machine, or whether they all grew up in the same era and entered the league together.

If it's the former, I'm not such an Iverson fan.  He's undersized, inefficient, and was a coach-killer who wouldn't come off the bench.  If it's the latter, I can see a guy with a skill set like Iverson's being a very, very valuable bench player as a "microwave".
