7:10 left we have just erased a five point deficit to tie the game up at 80. We have Garnett,Baby,Green,Pierce and Delonte West on the floor and have just stopped them twice on defensive.

He brings in Ray Allen and Rondo and the Heat go on a 8-0 run to make it 88-80.

When we have a good rhythm you dont interrupt it to go back to the regular rotations. You let it go and maybe we go up then if things start to slip then you sub in to make a adjustment for a mismatch or fatigue. Doc Rivers worst in game substitution coach in the playoffs hands down.

I agree Baby cannot cover Bosh and it was evident since the first quarter dont let it go all game my gosh. Play Jermaine and Green

WAKE UP DOC.

The game was tied at 80 or close to that when Ray came in but they then gave up 7-8 straight points before Rondo came in.

A shooter like Ray needs to get his shots. No one can convince me he only had 7 "opportunities" to shoot tonight.

I was just correcting his post.

So, you were watching Ray wide open and calling for the ball and not getting it passed to him all night?

The Heat are over-rotating to our shooters...basically because we can't really dump the ball into the post. They were on just about every Paul and Ray spot up from three.

This is another element that could change with a Shaq sighting.

Very true on the over rotating, but I think another issue is that the offense was very stand still last night.  Too many times, we were wasting time on that shot clock by dribbling with no purpose which resulted in a bad jump shot.  Also, if KG is going to be taking 20 shots, we won't win.
do it

That's the only way Celtics will beat the Heat is to ditch Glen Davis and play Jeff Green. Wasn't that the reason they got him in the first place to space the floor and add versatility to the lineup.

Defensively Doc needs to also mix up his coverages throw some zone in there, and at times Switch on the Pick&Rolls.  Give them different look make Miami adjust to us. On offense spread them out. Put 4 shooters Pierce, Ray, KG, and Green on the floor and let Rondo operate. Spread out the Miami Heat Defense.

Green CANNOT play the 4.  Do you remember what Carlos Boozer did to him in the post?  Chris Bosh would destroy him

Jeff Green was a 4 the whole time in Oklahoma. What in few months he forgot how to guard the 4? Jeff Green is much better PF than James Posey EVER EVER was. Miami Heat don't have a low-post threat. Green will be more than fine.
I don't agree with the Posey comment at all.  Posey was a factor at the end of just about every close game.  Green sits on the bench for a reason.

I'd like to see more minutes for Green at the 4.  Does anybody watch Green run?  The kid has wheels.  He beats his man up the floor almost every time.  He's got a nice little turn around hook in the post and he's rebounding better than Glen Davis.
do it

Ok, Mr. Rivers:

first of all, play Shaq 4 minutes to start the 1st and 3rd quarters. Then enter JO for 8 minutes. bring on the Baby if you need to rest KG or he's in foul trouble. Don't play him more than 4-5 minutes, he doesn't have the stamina to bring energy for longer than that. Extend the rotation giving Krstic his 5-6 minutes in the center spot, and then bring back KG. Give the rest of the PF spot to Jeff Green and see how it plays out. Please Doc, play Von Wafer.

Shaq 8/JO 24/Krstic 8/KG 8
KG 24/JG 16/Baby 8
Pierce 36/JG 12
Ray 36/Von 8/DWest 4
Rondo 38/DWest 10

Never play Baby at center with Green at PF. In fact, you don't play Baby at the center at all against Miami. If Baby is playing well, keep him in for the whole 5 minutes, if not, bench him. Baby has to play with intensity, attack the basket and rebound. If not, he's a huge liability on D against 6'9" or bigger players.

Play Krstic with KG, they seemed to mesh well. Play JO with any PF, he's our best shotblocker.

Please, Doc, stop messing with rotation. Experimenting is over, now is time to win games 3 & 4. After that, extend the series until game 7 and wait for LeChoke to melt down.

And please, Celtics, stop reacting to the refs or the annoying Heatles. Play the game, share the ball, you're the better team.

Go Celtics!!

2 reasons for the loss:

1-Joey Crawford screwed us again. Apparently game seven of the finals didn't satisfy him enough. I know the foul count was close, but we were not getting rewarded for our aggressive play.

I saw a team that drove to the rim and there was no call time after time. We all saw Rondo get plowed by LeRoid with no call. Inexplicably when Wade pushes off they call the offensive foul, too bad the game was out of reach and the reason for the whistle. That to me is disturbing and should at least make people wonder. So I would like to ask Joey, how is one a foul and not the other?

I addition, I saw at least 3 drives to the rim where Rondo was hacked and nothing.

As much as I hate Davis, I have to say he was robbed of a few trips to the line. These were blatant non-calls.
Last night is what I was afraid of, 5-8 is awfully hard to beat.
These are just a few that stick out in my mind, there were others. I wouldn't point to a bad call as the reason for a loss, but there was a sum of bad calls that made it difficult on our team.

2)I don't have the confidence in Doc that I once had.
Unless JO is injured, there is no reason not to have him out there. Davis was on the floor for 26 minutes :o JO-19 minutes.

Jo played great defense last night. Why was he not playing Doc?

Paul was horrible, Green was playing better. I don't care if he's the capt. He was not producing.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

^^

I have to think JO is still hurting.  I just have to.  I don't know any other logical reason that he wouldn't be seeing more minutes

BBD is something like -35 over his past two games (while JO is +2, I think.)
Ray Allen is -21, and Paul Pierce is -17. Let's bench them too.

Tritto

Now the best oment on BBD was attacking the rim, sadly he isnt a ft shooter but he make Joel pay with fouls and that help by itself.

So you think Davis' play warrants this amount of playing time? You can't equate Davis' play with Ray's or Paul'(although I'm not on the PP wagon right now) Ray can't get open, I can't fault him for that.
Paul I actually wouldn't mind sitting if he continues his tribute to Sheed.

BB was doing fine in Game 2, he just didn't get some calls down the stretch.

I believe Baby and Rondo had drawn 3 quick fouls on the Heat in the early minutes of the 4th quarter....Baby continued to be aggressive (or "Hero ball" if u wanna call it that)...to try to get more fouls and help us get into the penalty.

He didn't get those calls and they ended up being missed shots.

I really can't fault Davis even though when it is 4th quarter and winning time, I'd much rather PP, Ray or KG be taking shots.

The problem is, our Big 3 are either hurting, too unselfish, or losing their cool in this series.....

BRILLIANT

What's their +/- when they're in the game with JO, versus with BBD?  I'm assuming, pretty good.  Those two starters are unfortunately the ones who are asked most often to anchor Doc's four-man bench units.

I feel that we need to role the dice, by reducing the starter minutes and giving our bench guys more minutes. Then telling everyone to go all out on hustle and physical play.  This will inject more youth and energy into our minutes. We are being out-hustled by the Heat, and with fewer minutes, our starters can go more all out.  Our bench could be up to this challenge.

Also, the block Lebron had in the 4th on KG was from a push off. Watching the replay, Lebron pushes KG down with one arm while both are up in the air, and then blocks the shot with the other arm. TNT commentators "amazing block by Lebron!" Ugh!!!
