The guy has basically shown nothing since he got here. There is no way that Danny can be thinking he might be a cornerstone for the future. He does absolutely nothing to help this team win games. NOTHING.

You are certainly right in some respects. Jeff Green could be a major contributor if he was a better rebounder, but unfortunately he's not.

I think Green has helped so far though. He doesn't have a flashy game. He's not instant offense. He plays a very team game. When the team doesn't play well, he is usually not going to play well.

Thing is... he's a restricted free agent, so the C's can match any offers.  But, some team's going to look at his old 15PPG scoring average and throw at least Travis Outlaw-type money at him, won't they?  Even with his mediocre play, somebody will make him an offer like that.

So, does Danny match if someone's offering him 5/$35M, or 5/$40M, or even 4/$25M?  'Cause yeah, he's got some latent talent, but I don't see him as being an All Star and if you weren't going to pay up to keep your (young) center around after 2012 I can't see you making a commitment to Jeff Green and killing all of that summer's flexibility.

I don't see Jeff Green sticking around, and if he does I've got a bad feeling it's going to be on a deal we regret.  I just haven't seen much of anything from Little Big Man to say that he's anything much more than someone completely replaceable.

He's got talent, but I don't see how you change his whole passive approach.  And, for all that talent, what does he really give you, production-wise, that you don't get out of... saw, Ryan Gomes?  Different type of player, but similar types of numbers.

Doc Rivers doesn't know how to play Green in a position for Jeff to succeed.

If Green is as good as many people seem to think he is, shouldn't he be able to figure out how to contribute? The guy has been here for 20-plus games now and he still looks lost on the court. Doc may share some of the blame, but I am just not buying this guy.

Why is this all of a sudden Doc Rivers' fault?

Jeff Green's got to grow a pair and go out there and play ball.

Where was Jon Niednagel when Danny needed him?

I can understand the need for trading for a SF, but what i can't understand is why he chose Jeff Green over Gerald Wallace who is a superior player. Charlotte gave up Wallace in exchange for Pryzbilla and a couple other role players. I think they would have loved to have gotten their hands on Perk instead. I like Jeff and think he's a good player, but i think Gerald Wallace would have made much more sense for this team.

They might not have known Gerald Wallace was available.

Charlotte had decided not to trade Wallace (to dump him and rebuild type of trade) only to change their mind at the last moment and then decided to trade with Portland.

Whatever happened ... it's a shame ... because G-Wallace would have been a terrific addition.

Everybody in the Leaguw knew we were in the market for a small forward; I can't imagine Charlotte didn't make a phone call to let Danny know Wallace was available.

Hell, I would have preferred the trade for Anthony Parker.  Nearly the same production, and wouldn't have cost us ****' Perkins!

who was it on here that characterized Jeff Green as the reincarnation of Len Bias - talk about an initial over-reaction. this poor kid simply doesn't fit on this team - why did Danny think that a finesse player would ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Danny shouldn't have made the trade. We all will look back and see it wasn't for the good. I think the starting five know this too. We r not tough anymore guys for real. I'm sad because I know this is it. We loss by 23 against the cheat and we loss miserabley to the Bulls.  So let say we get Shaq back I rather have perk around still rather than have to guys out there loss in the [dang] sauce man. Let not fool ourselves yea perk was hurt during the first half but I tell you what he is a championship time player bros and sisters. That's  what we need. I bet if you walk into our locker room right now the starting five wouldn't have supported this trade at all. Danny blew it.

I would like to hear Danny comment on the struggles of the team at the moment. He was right in the past when he commented on the team, but his silence now is worrisome.

I think Charlotte got a bag of apples for Wallace.

Maybe the Bobcats preferred Portland apples over Mass apps?
