This is ridiculous. By giving me 669 TPs with 120 or so posts that mod is mocking me. Why? Because some mod disagreed with me or thought my post was whiney? TPs are stupid. give me zero. I don't care.
I am less likely than before to post outside of this thread because a stupid mod misinterpreted a post of mine and decided to deride me publicly in a way on this board that I cannot control. How is that OK?
Okay, man, you're taking yourself *way* too seriously, but with this comment and several others in this thread. I apologize if this is "pushing you away" or whatever, but you seem a tad bit touchy, and have jumped down multiple posters' throats in this thread.
Also, I'm not sure that calling mods "stupid" is the way to engender a lot of support around here, at least from the staff.
I believe it IS stupid to manage the board in a way that mocks someone for introducing an interesting or controversial thread.
At least one other person has said this is the most interesting thread they've seen in weeks. All of my posts have been thoughtful.
I get 669 bogus TPs for that? Please give me one good reason.
A few things:
1) I don't care if you think something is stupid: you're still not allowed to make personal attacks against members. That includes mods.
2) Wasn't it one of the mods who broke this off into a new thread and gave you a sounding board? Rather than "shut you down" or whatever, it seems like they amplified your voice.
3) If you don't care about TPs, why do you care whether they're "bogus" or not? As was explained, getting "blown up" with TPs is an inside joke, is meant to be good-natured, and pretty much confirms the irrelevancy of TPs.
4) Just an observation of human nature, but bragging about how smart you are and how much of a contribution you've made isn't a great way to get people to like you.
I'd recommend just going with the flow and trying to take yourself a little bit less seriously. We all get wound up on here from time to time, myself included, but as KC so often reminds us, folks on the internet tend to take themselves a bit too seriously from time to time. This is meant to be a hobby; we're not drafting a UN resolution here.
