Rondo is no longer the sole assist per game leader.  Nash had 20 last night and they are now tied (11.5 per game). The way Rondo started off the year, I thought he was going to be the runaway leader this year.  I'm hoping Rondo will take the lead again in the final 13 games.  I know it doesn't mean that much in the big scheme of things, but it would be nice to have a Celtic be a leader in one of the major stat categories. It would also be a good notch under Rondo's belt in his young career.

I'm sure Rondo could care less about an assists title.  There's an NBA title out there for him.  Los Nash will never smell one.

Yeah I don't care and I doubt Rondo does either.  Only title I care about is NBA Champion.

Of course it doesn't matter in the big picture.  It would just be a bonus.

I think Rondo cares, he's a very prideful guy. He cares about winning more certainly.

Anyone who thinks Rondo doesn't care about the assist title is crazy, he absolutely wants it.  Obviously winning comes first though.

Hope he can pull it out over the last few weeks, but I wonder if Nash would be the oldest player ever to lead the league in a major statistical category.  He's gotta be close.

Of course he cares.  There were times when it was clear he was passing up the shot to get the assist, especially when he was right at the basket for an easy shot.

If Nash leads the league in assists, it's because he's still an amazing player on one end of the court even at the age of 37, and not as awful a player on the other end as people make him out to be.  In any case, even if he is weak on defense, it's not because he simply doesn't try or anything like that.  Steve Nash is a very hard worker and a class act.

20 assists and his team lost?  Yes, against one of the best teams in the West, a team that has far more talent and size than his own.  The Suns are still managing to win games even though they have 37 year old Steve Nash, 36 year old Grant Hill, and a bag of chips (plus Vince Carter's zombie corpse).

Rondo could learn a lot from Steve Nash.

Funny thing is that the Lakers only went up in the OTs and won it once Grant Hill fouled out.

yeah, there's no discounting grant hill's contributions.  he's easily the second best player on the suns, which is both a sad indictment of Vince Carter and a testament to the way that Hill has rejuvenated his career.

it's a shame, though, that both nash and hill are spending the twilight years of their careers on a team bound for nowhere.

I really wanted Grant Hill as a C.

Grant Hill is my all-time favorite player...next to Paul Pierce that is  ;D For all the kiddies out there, Hill was just AWESOME before his injuries.  Nash is up there too.

Yeah he could have been here last year played in championship (maybe making a difference) and then again this year fighting for the top spot in the East. Can't really feel bad for him

What's classy about a Canadian who trashes the laws of and the country who made him wealthy beyond imagination?

Rondo could learn a lot from Steve Nash.

What exactly could Rondo learn from Los Nash?   How to have a long and lucrative career with little team success beyond the regular season?....No matter how many rosters they build around you?  Los Nash is the common denominator there.  When the playoffs come around, you need to play both ends of the court.  Los Nash doesn't.  Never has.  Los Nash could learn that from Rondo.

Let him have his assists title.  He needs it a lot worse than Rondo.  Rondo has bigger fish to fry.

I think it's perfect that Nash is on a team with Tank Carter since Nash has tanked it on defense his whole career.
